I have tried to like the music my boyfriend listens to but I just can't seem to do it x.x.
I would like to apologize ahead of time for my poor English. I'm sorry u.u;
Well everyone always favors a couple of songs from a few bands. Mostly, I don't like every song from a particular band. I agree with @Akuma no Hana , most boys these days are into heavy metal (not saying all are) but I just can't seem to comprehend why they like that. XD Sure there's a lot of virtuosic playing but meh, I want something more with a melody. =P
Oh, and I don't like what my brother listens to. >.>
But all my guy friends listen to awesome music. *-* (Most are VGM anyway XD)
Set by me.

I tried metal...but I couldn't like them x.x
Big Time Rush, Everyone says their "Awesome1!1!1" but I cannot enjoy their stomach churning music. They made me loose all respect for Snoop Dogg..
The bands that sings english songs these days. The ones from back then (like Queen, Frank Sinatra, those ones from the 50s -90s) are awesome.
MCR and all that stuff. The lyrics were just to...I don't know, pathetic to me?

That's got to be Dream Theater. So many people have recommended them based on my affinity for Yes and the like, but they always sound clumsily syncopatic to me.
The feeling I get every time they try to toss some variety or change into the beat is the same kind of feeling one might get if you're riding in the passenger seat of a high powered sports car and the driver cannot drive a stick, but is desperately trying to convince everyone else that he has everything under control. Then, to top it off, while you're sitting in the passenger seat, getting tossed around erratically and jarringly, your driver brakes sharply at a stoplight. smirks to himself, revs the engine, and does his best to look slick for everyone watching.
Whether he'll stall or spin the wheels or just jerk away in fits and starts once the light turns green is anyone's guess.
Otherwise, definitely Pink Floyd. Contrary to the high esteem often afforded Pink Floyd, they essentially strike me as the ethereal, semi-progressive rock equivalent of U2. Everyone knows who they are and knows at least one or two of their songs, but they're inanely overrated and egotistical in their dealings and posturings, and once you get down to the actual music there's nothing truly special or interesting there.
The only half-decent defense I've ever witnessed mustered on their behalf went along the lines of, "They're the zen practitioners of rock." Great. Zen. Riveting.
Zen is not made for spectators, though, in case you missed that part.

The Pretty Reckless
Their only good song(very good) was Make Me Wanna Die.

I mean, I'm into Japanese screamo and stuff. I love Maximum the Hormone. But these guys just... just can't sing.
Srsly. The main singer's voice sounds bad, even when he fry screams.
But... before a bunch of fangirl and guys try to kill me... maybe I'm just mistaking the dying-cow sound in the guy's voice for his accent...
Yah... maybe that's all...
It's just a mainstream thing to have these eggs.

@Uta<3 , I know I just don't understand what is so appealing about people yelling things at you x.x;. I can't enjoy music I can't dance and or sing along with. My boyfriend had me listing to his Ipod with him one day after school and one of the songs just sounded like someone panting into a microphone. So, I started trying to mimic it and he got mad at me XD.
I would like to apologize ahead of time for my poor English. I'm sorry u.u;
