There are plenty of US citizens here. Give me your favorite and least favorite president!
Least fave- the one at the WH Now.... LOL
I'm Back~!
Sorry I was gone so long! I had so much to do!
all of the presidents have secrets about them ya know?
lol i love Andrew Carnegie, cause after he won the elections he had a party where he got into trouble for soliciting with girls in his tub like-jacuzzi in his backyard haha
my least favorite....reagan.....hate him and nador(sp?)
I know im not an US citizens but my favourite us president was
Bill Clinton
and my least favorite president is George W. Bush
For the next us president i would like it to be Sen. Barack Obama.
Having an interest in a particular countries politics is cool.
Okay, I think I'll say mine now.
I guess my favorite president is Calvin Coolage. He very introverted and he ran the country quite well. The only think I wish he could have done is reformed the stock market to have more integrety, it probably would have prevented the great depression in my opinion, but he couldn't see into the furture so I don't blame him.
My least favorite will be the one who wins this upcomming election. Unless it is Ron Paul...
lolz ^^
I'm Back~!
Sorry I was gone so long! I had so much to do!
well hoover didn't help out the much on the great depression, neither did calvin(that guy was interesting though)
i also like woody and taft was interesting
i like alot of the great depression presidents and the people who were like the first set of pres. of the us, carnegie & fdr
i also like jfk and jimmy carter XD
Well, Calvin was lucky, Hoover was unlucky. Neither of them could predict the crash. Perhaps even the people who pulled out of the market didn't expect the crash, and people just over-reacted.
The truth was that the stock-market didn't have as good integrity back then. Accountants were cooking books and the market had to correct itself. I don't see how any of this can really be blamed on Calvin or Hoover.
Regardless, I think the people hated Hoover too much and it prevented him from getting much done. He did build the Hoover Dam though, and that damn is probably more usefull than any of the works projects FDR made.
I really think people just wanted a new face and FDR was that new face.
Mmmm, I have a problem with JFK. That is to say, he got very little done but was loved so greatly. I don't quite understand the fascination of him.
Probably one of the first ones. Before the American people fell sway to ignorance, and started electing religious fanatics into office.

Hey look, Japan made a movie about me!
Calvin was before Hoover. I think the great depression was bound to happen. Personally I put a lot of blame on the fact that the stock market had so little integrity. When you learn about all the things FDR did to make the market more honest, you realize how unregulated and crazy things were--an accident waiting to happen.
Most people will mention overproduction when they talk about the causes of the great depression. They will say "If income were to be more distributed, they would have been able to buy the companies products and thus there would be no overproductoin".
I disagree. I think that there was overproduction because businesses relied on the stock market to come up with a good price and since the price of the stock market was over-inflated and the average person simply couldn't afford that price, they ended up rellying on a lie.
Though I know many presidents who weren't shy to express their religion from time to time, I don't recall any religious fanatics.Originally Posted by Eris

Bah! Favorite? Why should I hinder myself with selecting a favorite president? Especially since I wasn't alive during most of their terms. If I could comply all the presidents in an areana, I'd let them box each other with sock-em-bop-em's. Whoever the winner is would be my favorite.
face·less –adjective 2.lacking personal distinction or identity
for gods sake why?!?!
My least fave is GWB, and Jackson (both of them actually) I'm not really fond of Lincoln either. (Mainly because he turned the civil war into a racial issue when it WAS NOT with that stupid parchment that didn't even do anything except that)
My favorite pres was Clinton and Jefferson.
Get crazy with the cheezwiz
[I like cookies & beer]
My number one favorite is Henry Clay...well if he had been elected. From the ones that were I would have to say Richard Nixon, or Maybe George Washington. They were the only two presidents two have been elected with at least 49 of the 50 US states.
That's a dumb reason. So legitimately I would have to say Hoover. He was elected in prosperity, and he still managed to pull together when the Economy Crashed.
A man chooses.
A slave obeys.
wasn't our country built off of religon though?.....and of ppl who didn't want to pay british taxes? lol
ok sorry about that, i meant warren g. harding
i was tired last nite and couldn't remember my history in order
i feel like he started the depression by bad ways of controlling the enconomy
i think thats when labor unions tried to form anyways and a lot of strikes during his term....O_O
That's just Christian history revisionism. In fact, the founding fathers were not particularly religious (here's another link, and here's one more).
