I've never read the books.

As for the movie, I think it's not as cliché as other vampire movies.

It has Wolves, sprinkling vampires that walk in the day-light, and a depressing chick in love with two focused characters.

Although, I do have to agree with Smile, I hate to see that moms are dressing up along with there daughters as, Alice or Bella.

Well, what can I say? I love Twilight, big deal. The books were great, but I hated the choices; Team Edward or Jacob?

The movies were... decent. I hate the actors, and everytime Edward kisses Bella the crazed fangirls go: EEEEEKK!!!!$@$ and I go GRRR!! (I really do that XD I feel bad for Bella to fall into the hands of such a ugly, smug, controlling vampire. I wish the Volturi killed him when they had the chance XD)

I can't say anything on the books, but I could rant on the movies all day.

The movies are crud, that simple, and I could make an essay explaining why. But for all I know, the books might be good.

As for the movie, I think it's not as cliché as other vampire movies.

No, that's totally right. It's just created a new breed of vampire: the glistening kind.

But, I don't hate it, I just don't think it really deserves it's popularity.

I had the chance to see half of the movie while babysitting my niece. I kept waiting for it to come to some sort of climax -- but it pretty much stayed monotone the entire time, and i'm not sure if it would have even gotten better than that if I had watched the whole thing.

The characters seemed way too 2D for my tastes, and I just couldn't really give a crap about any of them, not even the main characters. Bella seemed bored and disenchanted the whole time, and I kept wondering if Edward shopped at Ambercrombie and Fitch and went to dance raves.

... The "storyline", if it had one, was, I have no idea, bland? like it need some salt or something. Or, you know, a decent writer.

this is where I completely agree with you. J.K. Rowling actually has some talent. She gave her novels a twist. Gave hidden meaning behind almost everything she wrote. Stephanie Meyer is good at putting a book together. With little life.

As for me... I hate twilight although most of my friends and my brothers like it but I don't. I wanted to see what it was all about since everyone was crazy about it but... vegetarian vampires who sparkle under the sun...? Twilight is ok in my opinion. I only seen the first one, and probably won't see the other films and probably won't read the books based off it. I prefer the show True Blood, because i think the story is way better and more interesting. I also like the Blade movies and comic books.

ive seen both films, havnt read the books, seen many other vampire films and shows

ok as for the vampires and thier glitteringness
its not that bad, it could be worse, and i mean... if you had a choice between turning to dust and dying, or Sparkling when you are in sunlight... i think alot of people would choose option B, and besides, as a plus point, you could have discos with your fellow Vamp friends during the day XD
As for the Story, Yes it was lacking in some areas and it felt slow sometimes, but overall, it wasnt that bad actually at all, i have seen some really bad films in my life, some have won awards >.> .. but yeah, as for twilight's story, its good, but its not brilliant, id class it as watchable and mildly enjoyable, the second film: this is where the story starts to open and ends with a huge opening for somthing huge to step in, the film was a bit more fast paced than the last one but still felt slow in some places, and by the end of the film you just wish edward would f***ing bite her and turn her into a vamp allready DX.
so with this said i am looking forward to the next 2 films to see how it unfolds.

and yes, the fan girls are annoying beyond belief ...

i actually like twilight to some extent, its not as bad as people say it is
and yes bella is a bit odd, but if she was normal, it wouldnt have the same feel.

I still don't really see where all the hate for Twilight comes from. I didn't read the entire first book, because I hate 1st person books, so I need an explanation. Apart from sparkly vampires which is....odd, but somewhat cool in a weird conceptish way.

Well, if they sparkle under the MOON, I would have liked it. Vampires are associated with the night after all. But sparkling under the sun? uhh... that's just plain corny... The author would have just said that the vamps there aren't allergic to sunlight like traditional vamps or something like that. And whats the deal with them being vegetarian anyway? Well, it is healthy eating but... real men eat real meat! haha!

I thought the movies were fine, bad acting and wtf sparkles? Aren't they supposed to die in the sunlight or something? But anyway it was just okay. I haven't read the books. I hear they're better than the movies, but I don't wanna spend the time to find out because you could never make me read that much sheesh.

I gave the second movie a chance outta pure boredom; I wanted to choke whoever let that terrible script appear in a movie. Combine that with even worse actors that at times seemed as if they were reading the scripts, rather than putting emotion into it, and I was honestly glad that I didn't have to pay to watch it. :|

Either you like or you don't like it. I do not like it because it does not capture the essence of vampires. It is a bit cheesy too with all the lovey dovey nonsense. It was such a fad that I never got into it. With the novelty shirts of Team Jacob or Team Edward, the fast food toys, blahblahblah. Try watching Interview with a Vampire if you like vampires, the more legit aspect, none of that glittery flesh stuff.

As for the movies, the first one was dripping with teen angst right off the screen. The second one was sort of like the first, except they had dire-wolf-shapeshifters.

 

(No, they aren't werewolves. Apparently they are shape-changers who can only change into large wolves. A friend who's read the series told me this. :< )

In any event, they were 'meh' at best in my opinion.

I am yet to read the books ( i have read the manga) but the movie is not the best that i have ever watched. First of all the main character looks as though she is high on something. She is so monotone that it makes the film seem dead. There is a storyline but i think that they could have used better actors for the movie.
