any werewolf anime??

u know what the world of anime lacks?? werewolves. when i comes to supernatural animes, vampires, or beings of similar characteristic, are pretty common. so common that its to a point where vampires are hunting vampires like in hellsing or blood+. u get a few demons and ghost/spirit(shinigami) along the way, but when will a werewolf play a protagonist? the only anime i know in this area is wolf's rain..but they were more like wolf in disguise, than the whole werewolf-fullmoon background kinda thingy. im just curious if there are any out there? manga/anime doesnt matter. does anyone know of any?? thanks.

One of the villains in Hellsing is a Werewolf. There are also Werewolves and Weretigers in Bastard!! but they just serve as fodder for Lord Di Amon.

Spriggan (manga) features a prominent character who's inflicted with a lycanthropic disease that transforms him into a wolf-man.

The heroine of Spice and Wolf (anime) is a wolf-girl with ears and a tail, but like Wolf's Rain, I suppose it doesn't really fit the bill.

The series I really recommend is Wolf Guy (manga). It's the remake of the classic series of the same name written by Hirai Kazumasa. It's still hot off the press at three volumes and counting, so I doubt you'll find any scanlations yet, but I advise you to keep an eye out for it. It's pretty good.

Didn't Wolf Guy have an OAV? I doubt any scanlators or fansubbers will pick this up if even licensing companies haven't thought about it.

Find Bastard!! and you'll find why I don't need to inject sarcasm. It's probably the greatest shonen manga ever. It's about a walking egotistical pile of testosterone named Dark Schneider who is a Wizard that goes around seducing every woman he sees and toying with every villain. It's like an intentionally ridiculous version of Fist of the North Star.

thanks u guys, not a whole lot of options there but it's better than none. i'll look into wolf guy if datenshi highly recommends it and maybe spriggan too, but i already saw spice and wolf. darn, it seems like i'll have more of a chance if i look into manga..i was hoping there'll be atleast one anime, oh well, but keep me updated yeah?

Yup, I second that one.

Werewolf mythology simply doesn't seem to be big in the Japanese culture. They have dog demons (inu akuma) and fox demons (kitsune), instead.
