Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag confirmed, has 60 minutes exclusive gameplay on PS3
Awesome.
I..... Don't really care about this franchise anymore.
It's great that they're going all pirates of the Caribbean and all. Its a theme that just like the Wild West isn't really done enough in games.
Assassin's creed is awesome as a franchise! But i'm wondering how they will implement the core gameplay (freerunning, exploring) into a Caribbean setting. I do like the the fact that the main character is the grandfather of Connor.
bah, i think they are exagerating -.-
I got lost in the assassin creed story with AC1 AC2 AC2-2 and AC? now AC3 and black flag what?
Update: The world premiere trailer is leaked!

Didn't even know about this until like five minutes ago. Looks cool. Is it a 360/Ps3 release or just Ps3?

I can't freakin' wait! I watched the trailer this morning and knew I had to get it. It is one of the few franchises I dove into with as much excitement.
I've heard from two separate sources [sic] where one of them said Microsoft will just call it Xbox (and market it as a reboot of the original console but designed for a full 'living room media experience' (bullcrapIjustwantotplaygamesbullcrap). the other, however, was adamant they were going to name it Xbox 720.
Either way, they're going to call it something stupid. Those are the only two viable 'threequel' options in terms of naming schemes, so unless they go and change the console to something ridiculous like the Microsoft Infinity or something then that's what we will expect. :|

I liked AC1 but I couldnt even play AC2. It felt way too different to me. Idk I should have put a little more effort into it but I felt pretty discouraged about a game i liked a lot not being the same anymore.

^Nothing PETA does surprises me anymore.
I've pretty much given up on the AC series, the best in the series was ACII and it just went downhill from there.
I still haven't completed ACIII it just bored me, though I know I will probably pick up this one at some point... when I feel it will be worth buying, £5 probably.
If they show something new for it like they did for some WiiU games (although not worth it) or like Destiny, sure but to be honest, since it won't even have major graphic improvements since it'll be a port, I won't.
I am really hyped for exclusive and future games coming on it though, but as for launch titles that are basically ports, I'll have to see.

I suspect the launch titles for both PS3 and Xbox (720?) will mostly be ports, since game developers will only be interested in taking advantage of the 'shiny new graphics capabilities' and push out some games that have already been proven to be successful on the previous-gen consoles so gamers can see the differences in graphics. I know they did this on NFS:MW (the 2003 one) since I have the PS2 and Xbox 360 versions, and the 360 version was very obviously just a port since the graphics were pretty much the same as on PS2 except for the higher-res display, better frame rate and some additional lighting and water-reflection effects.
Not really surprising though, but I'm sure at least one game dev out there will take the gamble. I'm still going to cross my fingers and hope for a port of Trackmania 2. Nadeo ported United to the Wii a while back, so the capability's there. Seeing that game run on current-gen PC hardware that's set up dedicated for console gaming would be sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet, especially if my old heap-o-junk computer's performances on the game are a benchmark to go by.
