Its not only dating, but marriage as well. Me and my husband have been together (married) for almost 2 years now. We fight occasionally but the difference between just being in a normal relationship is we hold onto eachother a bit tighter than if we were in a regular relationship. Marriage is deffinately the long hall, but VERY much worth it once you find the right person.

If she already knew, then chances are he probably still wants to show her that he's "semi available". Or he wants to send her the message that he's not really into you as much as he is into her. I know that might sound horrible but thats the way I would look at it.

One thing you don't want to do is get jealous (openly) and start acting weird. That tends to push people away. You dont want to do that just in case the signals arent what they seem to be. So what I would suggest is for you to act like you normally do around him when you two are around anyone even her. That way he doesnt get the sense of being smothered (usually when men find out women especially gf's are jealouse they tend to feel like they are being controlled). So that is one thing you dont want him to find out.

When you do have some problems, just talk it out with him in private. Tell him your concerns and ask him if its true or what he thinks about it. Communication is always the key. But remember dont be so hasty to raise your voice or point the finger. Calm is the best way to go for things like this. Relationships are very sensative and you need to handle them with care. :] Hope this advice hellps you!!

Yeah I can understand that, relationships are not for everyone. I have a friend who I went to HS with, She wasnt interested in anyone not even boys or girls relationship wise. I always thought of her as the solo type.

Yeah. This situation isn't too clear yet but I'm sure in the end I'll be happy with whatever I chose from it. Thinking about how he won't always open up (which leads to feeling ignored) and how he screwed up big once iritates me, but on the other hand I have a feeling it could be good if we just work things out first...somehow (he's not talkative when it comes to this).

But how long do think that will last? We're human therefore we are sociable creatures and thus need to feel loved and wanted. Also the urges are kinda hard to ignore.

See thats what was weird with my friend. It was almost like she had no sex drive or sexual interest in anything. It was like a child with the knowledge and understanding of a young adult. I really dont think she was even attracted to either sex in any way whatsoever. Was quite odd, I only met one person like her, and that of course whas her.

I can see there she is coming from, I was like that for a short period of time (after I got crushed by my ex). But over time i got back into being interested in women again, tho I still can not fully trust them. So I doubt that she'll stay the way she is for long. Even 3 year olds have interests in the opposite sex.

It took me a very long time to get over my first heartbreak. It took a lot of Alice in Chains, bad poetry, video games, and friends to get through it. It felt like being kicked in the stomach. I didn't eat much, started losing weight like mad [I swear I need to get in that funk again for a bit] and just didn't give a damn about anything. My desire for human companionship lessened and I kept pretty insulated with my small circle of friends. Each of those people are still my closest friends today. I was dealing with depression around then too, and that contributed to the breakup. She shouldn't have had to deal with my issues, and eventually, it ended the relationship. My fault. But to get through that, I built such a shell...I've been told that I don't open up to people, and don't let them in. I didn't used to be social, and I'm still not, really. But I used to be far more of a prick to people than I am now. I not only didn't like anyone but my few friends, I didn't want to like anyone. It was easier to go through life pissed off, than risk any more heartache.

I'm still sort of that way today. But it's still not her fault.

I do talk to that ex periodically, it's been a long time, and she's married now. We can sit down and have a few drinks together at a party, or with her husband [went to school with him] and there's no tension or anything anymore. We're friends. But it took a long time for me to get to that point.

I miss having someone to be that close to. It's not about...gratification...it's about knowing someone very well, and caring a lot for them. I hesitate to use the word "love" but the feeling of being loved is wonderful, even if it's not "real". You guys and girls in this thread that brush that off may be more independent or grounded than I am, but I don't think so. I think, sometimes, by reading your posts, that you've not had someone that really cares about you. It's almost like abuse, to have a relationship like that, where you're not appreciated, cared for, "loved", whatever you want to call it. The connection cannot be one-sided. Some of us here have been hurt deeply, and some of us seem to be made of steel and teflon.

I've been single for a long time, and I've pretty much stopped looking. I don't have time, I don't want to look. I won't meet anyone at work, because of what I do. I won't meet anyone in my time off, because I don't go out, because I don't make very much money. And I don't care to drink in bars, which is the usual way to meet women after you're out of college. So I stay home. I like Texas, but I'm also not convinced that I will find someone for me here. I'm not church-friendly, and don't care to be. And that's a big deal for most folks around here.

So knowing that I am sure you will find someone new who makes you even happier than you are now. I always loved being in new fresh relationships. There is something crisp and clean about them. They are always exciting, just remember tho relationships are like caterpillars. They only start out looking ugly (or cute if you like caterpillars) and then once you give them time it will blossom into something beautiful. Dont go looking for those butterfly's to start off the bonds. They tend to die very quickly.

Actually, you'd be surprised. In life, I'm quite shy. But as some can tell ya, on the forum I was quite the socialite, lol. There's a difference between face to face, and a cyber interaction. For me, I find it easier to be who I want to be online, then I do in real-life. Probably cause I'm TOO good at reading people and their reactions, so I tend to clam up and be more affraid to just be myself.

im sure youll meet someone. i dont think you have to look for that person but rather if youre really meant to be, then youll just meet. its a random thing. thats what i tihnk anyways

don't beat yourself up. I rather not see another person suffer like I've been doing for the past year now. So just relax and take things slow and flow like. guys will flock to you like ducks (men are really simple). And you'll find that awesome guy and you 2 will fall in love and all will be good with the world

True changing people is something that we all wish we could do. but sometime you can make people see their faults and make them improve for the better

that is true but the person has to want to change, which is rarely the case. even my ex said he would change, he didnt so i dont think people do. it takes a lot of effort and wanting and sometimes they just give up
