Nonon Jakuzure - Best Kill la Kill baePretty damn great! #spoke2soonOta "The Cutest Otaku" 2016 - Lol, how's your account doing lately? Oh wait.
Hopefully the fight between CM Punk and Jason David Frank will actually happen now.
One of my favorite wrestlers ever fighting my favorite Power Ranger? Heck yes I wanna see it!
Wait, AF likes SPORTS?!! Kinda shocked.
Personally, I don't know why people consider WWE a sport when it's mostly acting...lol
I know it's debatable and people will pull the "it requires athleticism" but still...

I actually cannot stand Jason David Frank so I'd be rooting for Cmpunk hands down!

What's that one sport where you shoot the puck into the basket in the end zone with your foot? Cause I like that one.
I'll admit hearing him speak or watching him type on social media, he kinda comes off as the clueless, dumb jock.
I just wanna watch it to watch it.
Also, to broaden up the sports, any basketball watchers? Love my Spurs. <3
WWE may be scripted, but how does that take away from the definition I posted? Plus, the careers in WWE are far from fake. People join WWE to reach the top and do what they do best like any sport.
Unless you are The Great Khali, working in WWE is something you just cannot do unless you train for it.. just like the NFL and so on. WWE is also VERY physical and tough on the body. Just like any sport, it is also entertaining to the fans who buy tickets in various sport arenas and football stadiums.
I'm not sure how much you know about WWE and etc, but it is a sport that just happens to be scripted.. UNLESS you can look at my definition posted and find any wrong in it.
Is it physical? Do you have to practice for it? Do people compete against each other to further the careers they want to have? Can any person step into a WWE ring and entertain the fans?
Nonon Jakuzure - Best Kill la Kill baePretty damn great! #spoke2soonOta "The Cutest Otaku" 2016 - Lol, how's your account doing lately? Oh wait.
Takes it away since it's not a competition if there's a decided outcome. To have a competition both parties need a chance for a winning outcome. You don't get that if it's scripted and the winner is decided before the match even starts. Training doesn't matter. You train to play an instrument, to act, to dance. None of these are sports though.
com·pete
intransitive verb \kəm-ˈpēt\ : to try to get or win something (such as a prize or reward) that someone else is also trying to win : to try to be better or more successful than someone or something else.
WWE does not fit that since it's scripted. No one is trying to win anything since the winner is already decided.
@GameGeeks already debunked that.
WWE is as competitive as acting in a movie for the best role. That's about it.
You may have a point, but WWE falling into the needed requirements for its definition does not change. Plus, your definition for compete only helps my case if you look into it deeper. There is a prize or reward to winning these matches (Championships). While it is a scripted program, winning these championships are the dreams of all the kids and adults who want to be a WWE superstar. Calling these anything but a reward or prize is a huge slap in the face those who have dreams and achieved those dreams. Besides the championships, just winning matches on live TV is a reward of its own.
Are you saying for example Roman Reigns doesn't want to be as or more succesful than John Cena? Your crazy.
Thanks for making my argument stronger though.

Debunked? Nah.
Nonon Jakuzure - Best Kill la Kill baePretty damn great! #spoke2soonOta "The Cutest Otaku" 2016 - Lol, how's your account doing lately? Oh wait.
How does it fulfill the needed requirements without fulfilling the needed requirements? No it doesn't. Yes there's the belt. But it's already decided who gets it. They decide person a gets it. So person be doesn't get it and never can get it. As such there's no competition. No one can compete. Yes it can be a dream. So does just dreaming for something make it a sport? If that's the case everything's a sport. The medical field, the judicial field, political field, rescue field, etc. All these by that logic would be sports and thus the people in them athletes. Acting is a reward of its own. Is that a sport? Does Alex Karpovsky want to be as Successful as Tom Hanks? And failing to see how I made your argument stronger when everything you're listing has nothing to do with competing. Just popularity.
@Yoko Littner
WWE is just advance acting, nothing less, nothing more.
This is why it isn't difficult for Dwayne Johnson to be a decent actor.
I love how you completely ignore the belts being a reward for the winner of the match and for some reason you don't think WWE superstars are athletes.
So you think being succesful in WWE is all about popularity? Your right, the WWE always gives the championships and pinfalls to the popular superstars who are over with the crowd. I wish WWE was like that to be honest (ever think about joining WWE creative lol?).
Just look at your defintion. Your definition clearly states the following:
- To try and get a win over someone else: While WWE is scripted, you need to climb the ranks of other superstars and out do them in the ring.
- There is a prize or reward for winning. Even if WWE isn't considered a sport, are you really that ignorant in thinking winning championships isn't a reward or prize for everyone on the roster? So let's say I end up agreeing with you that WWE isn't a sport, but clearly saying no one is trying to win anything is so far from the truth and is a huge slap in the face to everyone who wants and wins those rewards. Just so ignorant.
- They are trying to be better than others: I mean come on. Do you really think the superstars aren't trying to outshine others? Derp.
Your argument of WWE not being a sport is def a good one and I'll give you the win on this one, but you need to stop posting things unless you know more about the subject because you do this alot.

I think Yoko is the only one who understands me on this though.
Although I am taking @GameGeeks ' side on this, that was 100% on dot. But I disgres, anyway...
I dunno why you ignored what I said though.
Obviously, it requires athleticism but it doesn't have that "sportly" competition that it requires to be a true sport. It requires as much effort and dedication as an sport but in reality, it's still a type of acting.
The competition relies on being a good actor, not truly being an athlete because they aren't using true wrestling skills rather their athleticism to reinforce their acting.
Obviously they get hurt for real, but so does stunt actors.

I ignore it because it means nothing. A reward only means something if it's actually earned. The winner isn't actually earning it since it was decided they would win. And yes, the definition does say try. There is no try to win if they've already one before stepping in the ring. All they're doing is putting on a show. And you can't really be trying to win anything if it's scripted. The only people they're trying to win over is the audience. Not some belt. The belt is just a prop.
"They are trying to be better than others: I mean come on. Do you really think the superstars aren't trying to outshine others? Derp."
And actors, musicians, etc. aren't?
And who says I don't understand what I'm talking about. I made plenty of comparisons to other things using your arguments. Speaking of ignoring things.
The belt is just a prop? You really know little about WWE Gamegeeks if you truly believe that. The belts are rewards these guys have been trying to get for pretty much a lifetime. To you its a "prop". To them its a reward and a damn honor. I mean how much do you know about WWE to debate against me about it? I don't care if you watch or have watched it. I truly want to know how much you know.
Wow. They didn't "earn" the title. 15+ years of training and being able to show what they can do in front of everyone to earn that shot at a title. Do you really think anyone can win a WWE title? If you think you don't need to earn a title then please go win it next Monday on Raw. If you don't need to earn it then this should be easy for you. Right?
I don't understand the underline and why you even brought it up.. I actually agreed with you so that comment was completely unneeded. Useless point was useless.
You really don't man. I'm sorry.

I'm a huge college sports fan. Mainly the money sports (men's basketball and American football), and also baseball. I don't really watch professional sports, except to keep up with players I liked watching when they played in college. I also dislike most non team sports (golf for instance), as well as football (soccer).
As for the debate at hand, regardless of whether or not WWE is a sport or not, doesn't change the fact that it is stupid. While this is my opinion, I'd guess that most people with at least an average IQ agree.

It's a prop when trophy has no meaning. It's only there to progress their storylines. That's it. A Olympic gold medal has meaning. A martial arts belt has meaning. The WWE is just a glorified prop in a long running play. Case in point of it not meaning anything, it's not unusual for people who get them to just give them away. If it had meaning then they probably wouldn't do it as often as they do. And no they didn't earn the title. They trained to become actors. That's what they do, act. Working out is no different here then someone like Hugh Jackman working out to play wolverine. Their job calls for it so the work out and build all this muscle. Besides most of that training is how to fake hitting someone or jumping on them and making it look real. Pretty sure that's called acting. And I brought up the underline because you seemed to still be refuting it with that comment. And yeah, it'd be easy for me to earn the belt if it's scripted that way. They're trained actors. What they do isn't all that different then what you see in a fight scene in a movie. Trained to fake a punch, kick, etc. Heck, lets go to Dwayne Johnson. He said he got into WWE in order to get into acting. And it worked. Case in point, belt is a prop. Just like a gun is a prop in a movie. Something only has meaning if it's actually earned.
