They won't care or know as long as we take care and love them. What we call them doesn't matter

Calling humans "people" is derogatory. I won't stand for it.

Nah, I'm just used to only seeing ASCII when it comes to keyboard art. So the confusion was simply on my end.

Define: Pet.
How is pet derogatory? Shouldn't they be happy to be called a pet?a domesticated animal kept for companionship or amusement
darling: a special loved one
stroke or caress gently; "pet the lamb"
a fit of petulance or sulkiness (especially at what is felt to be a slight)
stroke or caress in an erotic manner, as during lovemaking
positron emission tomography: using a computerized radiographic technique to examine the metabolic activity in various tissues (especially in the brain)
favored: preferred above all others and treated with partiality; "the favored child"

Plus, I never say, "Come here pet! Ohhh, that's a good pet. Good job you caught the ball, pet!"
If you're calling your pet, "pet" all the time, sure that might be a bit mean. But most people name their pets which would be a sign of endearment, no?
Oh, and my friend calls her dog "dumb dog" all the time and it just wags its tail. Like, "Oh come here dumb dog!" *dog wags tail and runs over happily*
I suppose fish should be called sea kittens too.
If each mistake being made is a new one, then progress is being made.
