Thanks to Ms Lucy for this awesome, funny gif.
The person that you are now is not the person that I used to know. You're becoming a stranger that I've never met before. Not liking the change though.

Peanut bubber is gud for yu helth.
According to the stats I've read, stuff like that either has no effect or actually increases the rate of crime
I mostly work off textbooks (one of my degrees is in criminology), I'll see if I can find anything on the internet

http://www.deathpenaltyinfo.org/dete...r-murder-rates <- Just the US, but still helpful I think
http://www.aic.gov.au/documents/F/6/...3CF%7Dti03.pdf - This really just says it doesn't work or is un-needed
http://aler.oxfordjournals.org/content/4/2/295.short - You should be able to see the summary, unsure how to show you the full article (databases like this are a pain that way)
http://cad.sagepub.com/content/26/4/453.short - Again, just New York (so generalising could be a problem, with cultural differences etc), but interesting.
Sorry, didn't mean to dump a bunch of stuff on you, just wanted to give as clear a picture as I could. It's a really interesting field if you want to learn more about it, I recommend it.
When I say that executions etc increase the crime rate, maybe I should explain that statement a bit more. It's very difficult to ascribe crime rate change to one factor like that, because societies that have the death penalty tend to be different (not saying better or worse, just different) than those that don't in a lot of fashions, and for a society to get rid of (or bring in, I suppose) the death penalty requires that society to change in certain ways (moving from a situation where most people are ok with it to where most people aren't requires certain social movements as I'm sure you can imagine). As such, it's difficult to say it's due to the death penalty itself when it could be due to the social changes that accompany a change. An example (just off the top of my head to illustrate the point, not saying it's factually right) could be that societies without tend to be more compassionate, which could result in a lower crime rate in and of itself.
Hope that makes sense.
