Depressing music
What's the most depressing song you've ever heard. I'd say Thanatos from the Neon Genesis Evangelion Soundtrack. It makes my heart ache whenever I hear it. I think it depresses me because it brings up painful memories that I wish never happened.

I confess I find radiohead really depressing. Anyone heard of them - I cant deny their songs are poignant (sp?) but I would never listen to them volunterily!
I guess there are a couple of others - bob dylan at times maybe? But if a song properly depresses me (as opposed to 'sympathetic angst') I tend to avoid it

I don't think most of Radiohead's music is depressing, except for Street Spirit (Fade Out).
John Wayne Gacy, Jr. by Sufjan Stevens is pretty depressing. I find the song about the girl with bone marrow cancer to be cathartic, though.
The song Bubbly by Colbie Caillat makes me feel depressed, because of the people it reminds me of.

My personal favourite version of this song, and one of few versions to use the Desmond Carter lyrics rather than the Sam M. Lewis lyrics (so no tacked-on happy ending!). 'Gloomy Sunday' is often referred to as 'The Hungarian Suicide Song'!

Well, I guess depressing music calms me down when I'm miserable so that I can sort things out in my head and feel better... or something like that. I dunno. *shrug*

Circle By Slipknot and Danger keep away also by Slipknot , these two songs had such deep meanings in it that i just started to cry when i first heard them.
Saddest songs i have ever heard.
And also "Room Of angels" by Akira Yamaoka , if you have played Silent hill 4 the room , then you may find it more depressing. Beautiful lyrics this song had.
And not to forget "kataritsugokoto" , was a ending theme of anime blood+ as well , i just find the tune of this song really sad and heart broken.
