We may be getting some videogame thrills coming to US soil in the near feature with a just announced Nintendo & Universal Resorts partnership.

Nintendo and Universal Parks & Resorts are working to create new attractions featuring Nintendo games and characters, the two companies announced Thursday. That could bring characters such as Mario, Link and Donkey Kong to theme parks including Universal Studios Hollywood and Universal Orlando Resort, as well as Universal Studio parks in Japan and Singapore.

As for the deal between Nintendo and Universal, more details on "the immersive experiences ... will be announced in the future," the companies said in a short news release. "Nintendo has created remarkable and imaginative worlds filled with captivating stories and beloved characters. Now, for the first time, those stories and characters will be brought to life in entirely new ways – only at Universal theme parks," it said.

This could be really fun I'd like a real life mario kart or something similar. Seems like Japan usually always got the cool rides with their Attack On Titan Experience but it seems more and more things in regards to pop culture will be making its way to the US

The general rumor is Marvel. I'll be sad if marvel goes but there's been rumors Disney is closing in on some deal to get Marvel out of Universal and into their own parks 100% now that they own them.

Marvel is best island.

I personally want the lost continent to go but they are too small to do anything remotely cool with. But come on, area is boring as can be.

I imagine toon lagoon might be traded to make way for videogames & pop culture. No one really reads sunday comics anymore and aren't really into classic comic strips. It's nostalgic but past it's prime TBH. Though that'll suck because it'll mean that the new rides will be re-themed water rides as as you know; I never ride them! lol.

I suspect Marvel & Toon to get the butcher block. If we're really lucky maybe twister or Disaster instead. lol.

But that's all just random speculation. I was wrong about a possible new JP... instead they went with kong... Don't know why.. JP is much more popular... But whatevs.

How about MegaMan Lazer Tag? The lazer would of course be the arm cannon. There would be life bars and power-ups. Just keep the spikes out of the area.

I squealed when I came across this while scrolling through my usual boring Facebook feed. The possibilities are limitless for this. My God. Can't wait to see what they come up with. Universal tends to have some of the best ideas for attractions so I really hope they bring some Nintendo awesomeness here to California.

Sounds fun! Though they should add something in where you can virtually capture, train, and battle Pokemon. Sort of like how Downtown Disney has that interactive DisneyQuest place. I don't care what the price is as long as I can become a Pokemon Master!
