The most confusing anime or manga

You know the ones. Ever watch episode one of a series and stare at the blank screen after it's finished woundering what just happened? Name some of the most confusing anime or manga you seen maybe we can even come to a consensus.

Some of mine include but are not limited too.

Kyousougiga - After the third episode I still wasen't sure what was happening.

Pupa - Watched all the episodes in one sitting and still have no idea where they were going with it.

Fate/Zero - This was the first of the Fate/stay series I watched and after episode one dished out so much characters and rules I was pretty confused.

I'm also reading Shingeki no Kyojin as it's released monthly so every time I read the newest issue it takes me a coulpe pages to remember what's going on. Reminds me of Game of Thrones.

I'm probably just stupid, but i found Puella Magi Madoka Magica pretty confusing. i had to watch it a couple of times to understand.

Also, SAO 1 time skip. the first time i saw that, i thought i missed an ep or something.

Again- probably just stupid XD

Don't feel bad for not "getting" these anime, because there isn't a whole lot to get about them in the first place.
They're both pretty terrible.

For me it's Serial Experimental Lain. I dunno if it was because I was sick when I watched it or what. But that anime was mentally fatiguing for me to watch. The art was weird, it seemed to just drag. I eventually finished it having no idea of what I just watched.

Indeed Serial Experimental Lain is definitely confusing, probably because the of the alternative world in the anime and the weird concepts in it. I also agree that the art was different which also contributed to the whole thing.

Despite that, I used to have numerous Lain wallpapers in my old computer

Neon Genesis Evangelion was confusing to me the first couple of times I watched. I think there was just more going on then I could comprehend at first.
