you are never too old. i'm 31 and still going strong.
saying you are too old for anime and videogames, is like saying you are too old for movies and computers...... it just makes no sense.

Kind of a biased place to ask, isn't it?
No your not to old. I think the limit should be 30+ by that time you should have kids and stuff.
Well, this is a two response answer.
1) Gosh, I hope not! 24 shouldn't be old. I mean, my it'scomplicatedatthemomentbutprobablynotformuchlon ger-boyfriend is 29. O_O
And I admit. At the moment, I'm still trying to say that I'm 18 or a fresh 19 year old when in reality I turn the big 2-0 in August, but I think I should make it clear now that it's not because I think I'm getting "old" that I do that. It's more that as more time passes, the closer I get to being equal with his age and it's just killing me to think that I am going to surpass him in years when he can't age anymore. That is a matter of me trying to deal with unfairness, not a fear of age itself, hence why I don't think age is much of a problem most the time.
2) In regards to being "too old to like anime and games etc.", don't ever let anymore tell you that! =0 You don't grow out of something just because someone tells you that only people of a certain age should like that stuff! All adults secretly or openly like many children's programmes that are on and there's no shame in that. Do you think children created these things? No! Adults usually far into their prime did! =3
And as for those people that say "anime are cartoons and cartoons are only meant for children!" I only have to say to them what a friend of mine always used to tell people, and I quote: "Ohoho, clearly you haven't heard of hentai"! xD

don't you think it would be nice to be able to enjoy watching anime or playing video games WITH your children??
heck, i wish my father and i had something in common when i was growing up?
i will say that they type of anime and videogames you like, does matter to a SMALL degree.
i mean, if you are 30-40+ and still watching pokemon or playing Mario type games....that might be a little odd.
.....but as far as watching/playing more adult oriented anime/games........i don't think there is any age limit.
many games/anime even have a M/nc17/18+ rating. you have to be an adult just to play or watch them.
for example i watched GitS with an old gf of mine, and she didn't even get it (she was 23 at the time). how can it be for kids, if some adults don't even get it?
another example is famous (and repected) movie reviewers like anime. Rodger Ebert for example.

i guess Roger Ebert is just a childish immature kid because he is an anime fan :P

There is no such thing as being "too old" for anything. Maturity is all about just accepting who you are and you shouldn't have to change yourself just to prove it. People who look down on others for watching anime and playing video games have simply never tried that life style.(or they secretly enjoy the them.) Much like when I see someone who is drunk I don't understand they like to drink. We all have our interests in life and you should never have to hide who you are.
Let me put it this way, several of the industry's biggest stars play video games and watch anime. Do you think that makes them any less mature? No of course not. I mean heck I go to a major University and teach music classes and I still play video games and watch anime.
one of the former prime ministers of japan taro aso said he is a anime otaku and he is 70 years old so yeah if you enjoy it doesnt matter what age you are

How can you be too old for games and such when the makers of it are like over 30. Games never get old, hell my grandmother even plays them.
Youth's an attitude, bro.
Also, I don't consider anime inherintly immature.
Seriously, 24? I didn't even get into anime until I was 21, but I've loved video games and other forms of animation my entire life.
I'm 35 now, still love cartoons, still love anime, still love video games, and I honestly can't see that ever changing in my life. I wear anime t-shirts to work, and have anime posters on my wall at work. My basement is my video game and anime room. I have anime posters, wall scrolls, anime figures, anime plushies, and all my video games and anime DVDs on display.
And to the person commenting about Pokemon and Mario at my age - I love Pokemon (both the video games and the anime), and I love Mario games (more the older ones I grew up with, from Super Mario World and prior) I still have my SNES hooked up to my TV, and fire up some Super Mario All-Stars from time to time.
Also, a strange thing happened to me around age 31 or 32. For some reason as you move up your 20's, you start to think you're getting old. But once you get a year or 2 past 30, you become old enough to realize how young you really are. Then you start enjoying life much more once you stop letting it get into your head. I feel younger now at 35 than I did at 25. I've heard from older people that that's pretty much how aging feels - you don't really change your interests because of age. Some people just by their nature change their interests and others don't, but it isn't because of age.
I pretty much never change interests. I've said to many people that when I was 8, my ideal day would be to get up around 3:00 PM, watch cartoons and play video games, eat Lucky Charms, watch more cartoons and play more video games until about 6:00 AM, then go to sleep. My ideal day at 18 would be the same. My ideal day at 28 would be the same. My ideal day now at 35 would be the same. And I'm willing to bet I'll say the same thing at 45, 55, and so on.
So I say, do what you enjoy doing. Don't ever feel you have to change what you like doing because other people think you should. Just enjoy your life and pursue the interests you really enjoy no matter how old you are, and you'll be a much happier person because of it.
Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go play some Disgaea on my PSP.
i'm 26 and love it so no
I don't think 24 is too old at all.
If other people do.. who cares? Do what you like to do.. if it's something you enjoy who cares what other people think about you.

Then what would you count as the age limit then?
Eh, people still watch Nickelodeon and Disney up until they're 15-16 so I would say around that age would be a good time to stop. Of course there are more adult themed animes, and adults will watch those, but I feel those should be called adult cartoons. More along the lines of Aqua Teen and Archer and Family Guy. Cartoons intended for adults, and not children.

Don't let society judge you.
Like people have said, age is just a number (except in certain cases).
Age is a little more than 'just a number.' There is science backing up a lot of it. Frontal lobes do not fully develop until you're around the age of 25.

Yh science claims to say alot of things but lets be honest how many of us common folk actually understand their Scientific terminology to make informed decisions based on what they just said?
Nope.
There is no age limit for something you like!
