Default Help with the expression "Greetings from..."

Hello, I'm sending an email to my Japanese teacher, who now lives in a different city. It's been a while since I've used the Japanese I learned so I got stuck right at the beginning of the message >.< here's my question:
If I want to say "Greetings from ____" would I use aisatsu, mukai, or something else entirely?
    ____からの挨拶? それとも
    ____からの迎い?

    ご協力をお願いします!

The thing is, you can't just translate every English expression word by word into Japanese. "Greetings from xxx" is fine in English, but in Japanese, you usually begin with something like "ご無沙汰しております。" (It's been a long time.) Neither 挨拶 nor 迎え sound like the right word to use here... but I might be wrong, since the number of letters I've written in Japanese is dismal lol.

Oh, thank you for replying so fast xD
I wasn't aiming for anything particularly formal, but I see your point. The idea was to emphasize that the greetings were coming from this particular place. I'll try something else, thanks for enlightening me!

Well, it's most appropriate to begin with 拝啓、先生 of all things.

Then you can begin with (place)からこんにちは、then ご無沙汰しております。 (After that you can put your email in all keigo like お元気でいらっしゃいますか... something I haven't learned formally so I dunno if I'm gonna pass JLPT N2 soon...)

Azure-san you can pass N2 with no problem!
Even N1, probably, if you study a bit before the test~

    I mainly took it because it was a lot cheaper than my GRE's, so I thought I might as well give it a try ^_^;;

    Thanks, Azure-san!
I like how this thread turned into a JLPT discussion. So, off-topic for a penny, off-topic for a pound, which part of the exam did you guys find the hardest?

    Don't ask me lol.
I neither have taken the JLPT test nor plan on taking it.

Maybe Hinamawari-san would be of help~

I think I had the most trouble with the Kanji part since I didn't have time to study for the test and couldn't remember a lot of Kanji off the top of my head. (I was so jealous of my friends who knew Chinese :p)

The listening part was really easy. The speaking speed was much slower than that of a normal conversation, I think, and they pronounced everything quite clearly. I almost burst out laughing at a few parts, too, when they included some obviously wrong answers.

@animeyay -san: Where do you get all of your Pokemon pictures? XD

On another note, it's sad how I've been posting in this thread and my post in the Talk in Japanese thread is still being moderated... Maybe I should put Latin letters at the beginning of my posts to avoid that.

I got most of them from the Pokemon board on 4©ℎɑи hehe.
That's like the only board of interest to me now anyway XD
