Have you ever read a book and you think that it would make a good anime. What would it be? Mine would be tails of the moon and Kurohime.

Inherently, manga is always better than anime, but...
Zetman.
Akumetsu.
20th Century Boys.
Nana no Kaoru.
Watashitachi no Tamura-kun.
My Lovely Ghost Kana.
Koe de Oshigoto!
Deadman Wonderland.
Believers.
If visual-novels count, it'd be really cool if there was a Tsukihime anime.
"The color fades along the intervals I follow."
Unless there are two Tsukihime visual novels out there, there is an anime for it. It's licensed by ADV and everything.
Proof.
I repeat: there is no Tsukihime anime.
"The color fades along the intervals I follow."
A manga is fine too, I suppose.
Lol, they have kuro-rekishi in the English-speaking world too?
That would be super-cool, but unfortunately it'll never happen, since the social commentary is somewhat outdated.Originally Posted by Gjallarhorn

Why is that (and I seriously hope you mean "generally")? I remember a similar thread a while ago, and everyone kept saying "anime is weaker because of filler and stuff", as if every single anime in existence is a manga adaptation (and not all anime adaptations have filler, "Monster" says hello). It's like they're all ignorant to http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/AnimeFirst. Where's the respect for Bebop, Evangelion, FLCL, Gurren Lagann, various Gundam series, Eureka Seven, Serial Experiments Lain, Paranoia Agent, Last Exile, Noein, Wolf's Rain, etc. etc., not to mention the countless anime movies out there by the likes of Miyazaki, Kon, Shinkai, etc.? And let's not forget anime adaptations of manga are generally far better than the manga adaptations of anime. Not to mention some of us dare prefer the anime versions of certain manga, I for example slightly prefer the animes of Fullmetal Alchemist (1st, not Brotherhood), Azumanga Daioh, and School Rumble over their manga counterparts. Another example would be Claymore, people whine about the filler ending, yet those who've read the manga past that seem to voice the opinion that it was a good decision because apparently the manga gets quite weak past where the anime leaves off.
I'm not saying there aren't manga that are just as good as the best anime out there, but just like there are plenty of awful anime each year, the same can be said of manga as well.
I'm not saying anime is bad. I'm saying if there's an anime based on a manga (which is what this thread is about), 99.9% of the time the manga is considerably better than the anime. The same applies to anime adaptations of visual novels and light novels.
I maintain that the Claymore manga is far greater than the "Claymore" anime, too.

I prefer anime over manga simply because it often ends faster than the manga. Even if it often is a weak ending, it's an ending. It also doesn't take as much money to collect.
There was an anime planned for Scramble, but it never got beyond a trailer.Mardock Scramble
There are certian animes that are better than the manga and there are some of the manga that is better than the anime. It all just depends on the person, the manga/anime and possibly who created it.
Well, although I haven't read the whole manga yet, I think Metamo Kiss would qualify. I love that story. <3
Otomen (It's already a drama though)
Ultimate Venus
Hourou Musuko
Millenium Snow. If only it was finished though.

There are lots of manga out there that i would like to see animated but if there's one thing that comes in my mind right now, it has to be Kurosagi aka 'The Black Swindler'. It is a seinen manga about a swindler who swindles swindlers.
Two live-action adaptations (one series and one movie) have already been done a few years ago. An anime adaptation remains undone.... as far as i know.
Most people will always say the original material is better. And besides, novels and even graphic novels/manga leave a lot more to your imagination. A lot of people like that. Unless you never visualize things in your mind... Which would be admittedly kind of boring.
I think they're both wonderful mediums. One allows you to sit back, relax, and enjoy the show a little more. And the other involves, as previously mentioned, more of your own imagination. In a sense, you've got the script, but you're the director. The anime adaptation is someone else's vision of the source material. What's in your head is your own vision of the material presented.
That said, I think the Monster anime and manga are pretty equal, from what I've seen/read from each (not very much, yet). So far, the anime has been pretty much line for line accurate to the manga. The downside to any anime adaptation, Monster included, is that the character's movements, voice, etc. are likely to at least be a little different from what you pictured while reading the manga version. And also the fact that the story is changed and may be paced too fast or too slow, depending on how many episodes the series will run. And what comes with that much of the time: filler. That said, the story being changed still isn't necessarily a bad thing. It makes it different than the original but not necessarily better or worse.
Sorry if I didn't make much sense. I'm probably a little redundant...
