In the year 3000, how far do you think humans will have evolved?

Year 3000 is still 986 years away and I guess you never know what will happen to the planet by then and none of us can truly predict what awesome and out of this world inventions the human race will have by then, but for argument sake let's please throw the logic of "who knows" out of the window. By 3000, what cool inventions do you see created? How far will the human race of changed? Do you think the human race will still be in control?

i think we'll have made great strides in the cyberization of the human race. we'll probably have advanced cybernetics melded with our natural bodies. stuff like this is already being pursued. i once saw a monkey controlling a cybernetic limb just by thought. this is a milestone in man's quest to extend and enhance their lives. if a monkey can be taught to control a limb simply by thinking, a human could do the same with an entire cybernetic bodies, a la Ghost in the Shell.

these prospects are very exciting to me, it's too bad i won't be alive to see it.

I think Horrendous is right. Think about how far medical science has progressed in the last 100 years, now imagine almost 1000 years from now, if humans are even still alive. Over-popularization, War and climate change could ultimately wipe us out long before then however if we do manage to make it, I think that people will be able to live a lot longer, maybe well into their 100's or beyond and everything on us could ultimately become mechanical. There's also a strong possibility of nanobots being inserted into our brains, which is something we might even see within the next 100 years.

Well, I expect either of two things:

A) With how technology is evolving in a rapid speed I'm expecting humans to have spread across the universe and be inhabiting at least one other planet such as Mars, since that's what we're currently researching. I'm expecting more about the Earth to have been discovered since there are still numerous unexplained things and others not yet researched, such as the bizarre animals living in the deep sea. I'm expecting there to be more diseases and more cures. Some nations would have fallen by then, while new nations are given birth. Education will also be more difficult since that is something that is constantly evolving, so by 3rd grade expect to have Calculus and Physics slapped on kids' face.

Movies will have in-movie purchases and DLC, just like videogames have them now. Meaning that when you go to a movie theatre, you pay the ticket to watch the movie, and annoying/distracting messages will oftenly pop on the screen behind the chair of the person sitting in front of you (just like in airplanes) begging you for more money and offering a small portion of an extra for the movie, for 3/4 the price of the ticket you bought first. There will be more security. Just like cameras are being placed everywhere on the streets (where I live), there will be cameras in your houses. It's for the security of the world, terrorists are constantly evolving so we need to evolve as well.

Nintendo will still exist but they will no longer be a videogame company, instead they will be a fastfood restaurant competing with Burger King and Ronald McDonald. Cable will no longer exist and everything will be centered around the internet, or what ever succeeds after the internet. Most downloads will take yottabytes instead of gigabytes. Concerts will all be holographic instead of having the actual artist there singing. So, when you go to a concert you see a holographic animation of the artist while the artist is at his/her home chilling and whatnot.

etc, etc, etc.

B) Humans are exterminated by some way or another, like a meteor hits the planet or humans themselves destroy the planet with their ignorance. This is highly likely.

Well, lets see how different we were 1000 years ago?
That was king arthur n' stuff time.
Based off of that, i would conclude that in 1000 years, we will have evolved to throw less poop at each other.

I think it'll be like the movie "Idiocracy" where mankind has lost almost all intelligence. Garbage piled everywhere, civilians required to wear barcode ID's, ads EVERYWHERE, etc.
