OMG they're cancelling toonami?! And I agree. CN is totally going downhill. I mean they only show these REALLY stupid and pointless shows like chowder. these new shows are ALL they ever show. why not put on the old and good shows? AS is gonna fall. Those shows aren't even for adults oO There just more innapropriate versions of kids show. I used to watch CN all the time, but now its just too plain stupid >O I hope you go to hell CN people

They announced it last Saturday. I was like ":OOOOOOOOO That's jacked up natural!" Now Cartoon Network isn't very entertaining anymore. To some people it never was. I watch a few shows on Cartoon Network that are non-anime (Total Drama Island *cough, cough*) but I watch most of my anime on Adult Swim. Now that the schedule has changed, I'm beginning to think Adult Swim and Cartoon Network's ratings are going to go down.

yeah, I mean they say CG and the other anime is on friday but I don't see them and also on Saturday Night u just get to watch 1 Anime Show and that Bleach, I mean WTF are Adult Swim thinking and same with Cartoon Network, There only 1 anime on Saturday morning and that is Bakugan

This is sad news indeed. I remeber when toonami was on Monday-Friday I would watch sailor moon, DBZ, tenchi muyo, heck I even watched hamtaro, and then they put it on just saturdays and I thought that sucked, but I still watched it. It had Naruto, yu yu hackusho, mar, one piece, DBZ, DBGT, and now their getting rid of it. I used to watch cn evey day from morning to night now I just watch it on Saturdays. Pretty soon I don't thing I'll be watching it at all. By the way if you have comcast on demand their is plenty of anime available at all times of the day on anime network on demand, adult swim, Ifc, all have anime avaiable on demand to watch at any time.

The anime companies should start talking with Sci-Fi Channel to try to expand their anime showing. Sci-Fi's "Ani-Monday" is a good example of how to air anime, at a later time so cuts are kept to a minimum, and a consistent schedule unlike AS and CN.

A few Mondays ago I was flipping through channels and saw an anime (forgot which one it was) playing on the Sci-Fi channel. I was going to make a thread about it, but never actually got to it. xD;

AS is doing worse, taking anime off almost completely for crap like tim and eric (which isn't even a cartoon!). They cancelled Shin Chan, and put Code Geass and Moribito at 5 AM!!(4 4 me, the dead hour- too late to stay up but too early to get up :P) Giving them no chance for success becuz of the time and no publicity. CN imho is trying to get rid of wut made them so great. wut do u think?

I agree. I dont watch cn anymore. I used to but I think Disney and Nick are taking control (more Disney than anything) and cn is just had its run. Its been fun guys. But like they say, everything has to die sometime and maybe cn is just at the end of its run. X(

Who said the anime was going anywhere? All that is happening (as far as we know) is that the Toonami block does not exist anymore (I don't think Cartoon Network is letting go of Naruto that easily). Adult Swim is in control of the anime now and they plan to show some on Fridays but they have not said which anime will be shown in the block or how long the block will be.

I can agree with the fact that some of the cartoons on Cartoon Network are pretty stupid but I can not blame Cartoon Network for showing them, so I do not complain about it. Those types of shows (according to their ratings) are the types of shows that people watch on their network (the same goes for the weird shows on Adult Swim).

Because they are a network and networks are businesses, ratings (and therefore money) are the most important things to them. Sure, anime may be popular around the world, but according to their ratings, not a lot of people watch it on television. This fact is the ONLY thing that matters to them. For example, One Piece is a popular anime for many people but many people did not watch it, even after FUNimation picked up the show and changed the voices and the edits (the show was eventually canceled). Most (if not all) of the old anime are not showing because of either low ratings or the contracts ran out (Cartoon Network can not show any of these anime ever again and they probably don't want to).

I don't think they should have gotten rid of Toonami. CN was for the kids who are younger then fourteen, Toonami was for young adults, and "adult swim" is for those who are sixteen and up.
Toonami was a good thing and now I wonder if they are even going to bring me the end of Code Lyoko.
I need to know if Xana loses.
So as long as they bring me Lyoko I'm fine.
But I liked Toonami.
That was a cool place and I felt at home.

That Chower show is just potty humor. I've grown out of that years ago. Toonami was the reason why CartoonNetwork was great. I mean...Sailor Moon, Pokemon (first and second season), and Code Lyoko. ^^ They were all pretty good shows. I don't get the sci-fi channel. This guy friend of mine was telling me about it on monday, and I was so disappointed to see I don't have sci-fi T__T No ani-mondays for me. D:

I fell your pain and I am too pissed off about this, you have last sundays re-runs on the saturday lineup, plus the line up is never advertised on tv, just the mon-thurs, fri and sun

toonami really went down hill, there last line up was back to back Naruto, then Ben 10 Alien Force and Samurai Jack

just like several years back where you had Teen Titans on Miguzi, Toonami and there regular line up


the main thing that I hated CN was the fact they would run the same 8 or 9 shows over and over, and nothing else, they wouldn't run anything from the 80's

Wow, I think I'm the only person that might still actually like Adult Swim. I never really watched the anime they put on anyway, for me it was all about the comedy they shown. Family Guy, 12 oz. Mouse, ATHF, Oblongs, Home Movies, I would stay up late just to finish the run. As for the the anime, since it was english dub, I couldn't bring myself to watch it and plus I had already seen all those episodes of the shows they were airing at the time.
Now as for Cartoon Network, I totally agree. It's gone downhill. I remember when the awesome shows were dominating! Cow & Chicken, Johnny Bravo, Powerpuff Girls (oooh! watch Demashita! Powerpuff Girls Z! it's awesome!) Dexters Laboratory, etc, etc. The only good show I can remember them having at the moment is Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends. Other than that, I gave up on CN. Gimme more comedy AS shows and I'll be happy.

I agree, and unfortunately CN is like the only source of anime i have on TV, i used to watch a lot such as inuyasha, code geass, Death Note, Morbito and some others, but now they are only broadcasting like two animes every week ¬¬, one of those is Bleach, o well but thank goodness we have the internet T_T

I remember my old days when i used to live in México, i used to watch in Cartoon Network L.A. animes such as Love Hina, Ranma 1/2, Inuyasha, DBZ and some others, and also this other channel called Animax, anime 24/7 where i used to watch some animes like Ryusei sentai Musumet, hunterxhunter, those who hunt elves, Ghost in shell, evangelion, Blood+ Saber Marionette, Beast Fighter and many others, it was defenitely my fav channel i really miss it T_T.

Well hopefully CN will get better, i really hope so. Greetings ^^

That makes sense when someone says like that but it is difficult. For one, anime, according to television ratings, is not popular. Fans will say over and over that they want more anime or that they want a 24/7 anime channel, but networks and cable providers don't see anybody actually WATCHING anime on television, which is the only that matters to them (they can't waste money on anime that people are not going to watch). For example, Code Geass is very popular anime in the United States but it is shown at 5:00 am because nobody, apparently, watches it (and the time slot is not the reason why people do not watch it; it is at the time slot BECAUSE nobody watches it). It would make sense to show many different anime shows on one channel so that other people would watch it in theory, but networks, like any business, are primerially concerned about money and since anime does not give them money like they used to (ratings for anime have fallen A LOT for one reason or an other), they are not going to do something like that soon.

I stopped watching Cartoon Network when they bumped back watching Toonami at 3:00 or so to 6:00, with only a couple worthy anime. Appearantly, Adult Swim doesn't really enjoy anime, but only aire it just for publicity reasons.

I'm no longer the Otaku I once was, so cartoon network going downhill isn't really doing any harm to me. Besides, occassionally anime comes on Sci-Fi, Starz, and Encore. Lucky me for having 9999 channels when I only watch 10 at max.

I didn't know there was still toonami in your CN, I think they remove it in México some years ago...first...they start to show tooname like at 1130 pm because some parents or stuff like that, didnt like the content of some of the shows to be in the 630 schedule...

But toonami only last like 2 years If I remember correctly...then they just start to show anime after 12 am but you don't see any promotion, comercials, anything, the last anime I saw before I came here was I think Trigun, Sakura Wars, and Dragon Ballz were still showing...after 1 am of course
