So many people have used the term racist lightly that I don't really take it seriously anymore. I really don't mind when people talk about stereotypes and make generalizations all the much, since there is nothing politically incorrect about generalizing white people I've gotten used to that sort of thing.
I think the real serious issue is when people actually start to apply those stereotypes to individuals. For example, I was looking for a job and went into a fast food restaurant asking for an application. They said they only had Spanish applications left (harharhar). I said I'd take the Spanish one anyway. The guy was reluctant so I asked the asst. manager and he got one for me.
Guess what?
There were no English or Spanish applications, there was only a single application, it was in English with Spanish translations. I looked at the guy who lied to me, then looked at what was going on in the back and noticed that there were no white employees in the place. I realized that they didn't want me to work there (still filled out the application and turned it in though, because I really wanted a job). You see, I don't care if people want to say white people are lazy or that black people like fried chicken.
Culture and heritage do exist, and it does cause people to fall in line with certain stereotypes. I do know a lot of lazy white people, and I've only been acquainted one black guy who didn't like fried chicken (he's a vegetarian). It's different when people actually start judging individuals though. The guy was hindering my employment because of my race. Are you really gonna hold the fact that a lot of white people you know are lazy against every white guy who walks in?
In my experience there are two kinds of "racists", and they are different in nature.
There are the honest racists. They honestly love their culture own and do not like other cultures. They don't even really care that much if differences are a matter of biology or socialization. They are like the supremacist type.
The other type are the latent racists. These are the ones who don't believe in supremacy, but still will treat people differently based on race for the sake of social justice. These are the types you'll see teaching ethnic studies courses in Universities, and advocating for affirmative action and other inherently prejudice policies.
The rest of people aren't really racist at all. It's just that the media likes to obsess over race because it is such a hot button topic. Most people fit into this category, especially those who have lived in diverse places.

"Racist" can now simply mean "a person who's quick on noticing racial differences". But "discrimination" is when the person renders any sort of damage due to this difference.
I don't, actually.
Except for this one redneck dude that only dislikes Mexicans and only Mexicans but that's about it.
I have some relatives that are racist actually, but most of them are older, they were raised back when people still believed it was okay to be like that. So, I don't necessarily blame them, though I can't say I condone it either. Hate is ugly, no matter if it's racist, sexist, it's still hate!
I dont use facebook. its a waste of time when you have other sites such as LJ, dA and etc
Urghh probably do have racist friends.
And to be honest their views aren't radical, but I don;t share their views, doesn't mean I don't respect a view as long as they can back it up with facts/counter arguments.
I don't have people that are outright "YOU'RE BLACK GO DIE! TRAYVON DESERVED IT YO" but on the same token they would avoid contact with the majority of that race becuase of stereotypes of that race. And amke off the cuff remarks like "fecking fat americans" or some crappy stereotype like that.
Lets make this simple,
I'm not a full blown racist, I don't have full blown racist friends that are outward and radical. But if someone's has a skewed view its not my job to berate them and unfriend them becuase that would likely fuel them, they have their views and they don't impart them on me, That's fine in my book.
I'm probably going to get heat for this post but meh.

I don't have any racist friends. Although I know someone that makes some jokes about Japan but he likes Japan
I don't think I have any outright racist friends, I have friends who enjoys the occasional joke and stereotyping of a certain race, and I gotta admit that I enjoy those little jabs and laughs as well, but it's nothing like "people from another race, disgusting, get back to your own country" stuff.
Jokes like people from Sweden, like @SuXrys constantly travel to Copenhagen to get their drink on because it's cheap, so they just steal our beer! in fact I bet SuXrys has been getting hammered in hella lot of Danish beer!
I do. U_U Some of my friends are racists. But you can't control it. They just think that making such comments makes them look superior and more powerful than the others. In reality, they're just a bunch of people trying to take out their frustration on anyone on the internet because they can't deal with it in their real life. You shouldn't pay much attention to them. -.-
P.S Korean music is awesome. :'D <3
Hahaha! What on earth are you talking about?
