There's some BRILLIANT animes out there that just don't seem to get enough attention.

One that I strongly felt that about is

HANASAKERU SEISHOUNEN

It is one of my favourite animes of all time, it has fantastic animation, plot, music EVERYTHING

Hanbun no Tsuki ga Noboru Sora is underrated for me. It's probably because of the episodes, it only has six.
Tales of Phantasia. I guess it's the number of episodes too. It only has four. But I know it's from a game which is why I'm wondering why it isn't that popular.
Ragnarok the Animation. Same as Tales of Phantasia except for the fact that it has 26 episodes.
Ultra Maniac. It's a really cute magic girl anime. :3 Plus, it's kind of a mix of modern and old worlds.

Ergo Proxy, Haibane Renmei, Mai HiME, Chrono Crusade, Dragon Half, Michiko to Hatchin, Scrapped Princess, Ai, Mi, Mai Strawberry Eggs, Toradora....all of these and more are under apprieciated and not widely known. They should be.

Densetsu no Yuusha no Densetsu (The Legend of Legendary Heroes) - I think it's mostly because of it's name making people feel it's just a comedy anime.
Kara no Kyoukai - Unfortunately not many people know about this movie series. Excellent visuals and awesome battles.

Basically, the Italian government takes little girls who were born with birth defects or injured really badly and gives them new bodies. Then, they turn them into assassins who kill to preserve the government's control. It isn't all violence though. Its emotional too. It focuses on the way the handlers treat their cyborgs. Some love and care for them, while others treat them as if they are soulless machines (which they are most certainly not) everyone needs to watch this show. It is the best!!!!!!!

A lot of shows are underrated. The thing is that all these shows are based on ratings and a lot of people will only watch the show if the ratings are good and its a well known anime. There are some anime that I have watched that I didn't think would be good and ratings weren't great, but I ended up falling in love with it. So I say who cares if the ratings aren't great if you like the show that's all that matters.
