I'm looking for animes with gay male characters, who are not pervy SM freak villains. Also the gay characters shouldn't be killed off. No Yaoi. So Shounen or Seinen. Don't care which genre.

Hmm. Well it sounds like you might be interested in Shounen Ai. Shounen Ais are boys love animes, but they're not as extreme as yaoi. They basically focus around the romance and more emotional aspects without the sex. There are quite a few of these, but I'm not too familiar with the genre, so I really can't give you anything specific to try. If you look under the Shounen ai category, I'm sure you'll find something you like.

However, if you're looking for something without romance, I've got nothing.

Togainu no Chi was a pretty good one for that genre, Karneval currently airing I believe has a lot of male/male interaction, Zetsuen no Tempest has a lot of male/male character interaction but I wouldn't say they were "gay" or anything like that. Lol, I can't say I really know to many, I've seen a lot of reverse harem animes where there's 1 girl and a lot of guys like Brave10, Majikoi, Hiiro no Kakera etc but not to many of those.

No, I'm not really looking for Shounen ai either. I don't mind the sex in yaoi. I just don't like the whole seme/uke thing. You know, it's made by women for women. It's not very realistic and for the most part it focuses so heavily on the romance.
