The MLB has a really good setup for internet viewers. my roommate at school was a big Atlanta braves fan and we would watch a lot of their games on his computer or by connecting the computer to the TV. I dont think (American) football has that yet.

You said cable needs to die in a fire. I say cable isnt going anywhere for the foreseeable future.

Not reallly, ESPN does stream online but you need to have cable.

EDIT: And it does. There's no reason outside of corporate greed that you can't buy and watch what you want online. Even when it comes sports.

I was talking about MLB.tv its expensive but you can watch any out of market games on pretty much any device a person has these days.
And I understand disliking the money grubbing corporations. The internet is powerful tool for circumventing cable. I just like watching sports live.

Just checked that site. And it's still a lot cheaper then cable. Especially if you buy a year at a time. Though admittedly I don't watch sports so I'm not sure what out of market refers to in this instance.

@GameGeeks out of market refers to a TV market not in your area. For example since my roommate and I were in Columbus Ohio the Atlanta Braves games were out of our TV market. Thus MLB.tv was his preferred method to watch the games he wanted to see.
I agree there are a plethora of ways to get content without utilizing cable or satellite but for some people its just not practical. I think Netflix is vastly overrated and there content is very hit or miss. not to mention just old in general.

Depends, we talking an actual television set, or TV shows in general?

I watch a few hours of TV shows a day, but only through Netflix or Hulu. My old television hardly gets turned on, only really use it if I can't find a sports game online.
