Is abortion murder?

personally, I say yes it is. The baby is alive from the moment of conception, and to take its life just because you don't want it is cruel and no different than cold blooded murder. What if that child would have grown up to find the cure for cancer? It will never have a normal life because of the mother's selfishness. Now, beofre the question "What if she got raped?" comes up, there is always adoption, abortion is not the only answer. The way they do it is cruel too, they dissolve it or tear it apart, or somthing like that.....I don't agree at all.

I believe that the baby has a spirit at the point of conception, but not a mind. If you aborted a baby, that would not be considered killing a life because a "life" includes both spirit and mind. The baby wouldn't know that you're killing it.

Therefore, I am pro-choice.

Well I think it is up to the woman who has the baby. no one else has the right besides the man invaleved to deside to do it or not. So yes I agree with it as long as it remains the woman's choise

For crissake, people. Until the day arrives that each abortion personally affects you, you honestly cannot judge.

Then there's also the fact that a fetus is not neurologically developed enough to feel pain, pleasure, or anything in between, until after eleven weeks of development. Not to mention that a baby doesn't actually have any higher cognitive functions until six months of age. Long story short, the fetus can't feel, or feel anything, if it is aborted.

Frankly, I'd rather see a teenage mother have an abortion, continue with school, and do something worthwhile. Honestly, I think the mother, who has an established life and future gets first precedence when it comes to this sort of thing.

FUN FACT: They use medication to do abortions. The first kills the fetus, and the second causes contractions to BASICALLY NATURALLY REMOVE IT. They don't tear it out of the mother's womb, they don't burn it, and they sure as hell don't use coat hangers, thank god.

Okay, by that logic, scratching an itch is wrong because it kills cells.
"But cells don't count!" you may say. "Cells don't feel or think or anything like that!"
Neither does a fetus.

And something I neglected to mention in the previous post: Orphanages are hellholes. I have a friend who spent more than half of his life being shuffled from one to another, and he said each one was worse than the last. Would you put a child through that?

Oh, and you may want to find the essay called "The Only Moral Abortion is My Own." It's about various pro-life women who find themselves with an unwanted pregnancy. Their logic is, "I'm doing it for a good reason," or "It's because I have to stay in school/college/work/whatever," or "My parents would kill me if they found out."

Ah hell, I don't want to open a can of worms here, but I need to get to post like this every once in a while.

When I think of murder in the traditional sense, I think of someone that's taking a life with malicious intent. Examples of that would be poisoning your husband, because you caught them cheating on you... or someone slicing someone's throat in a restaurant because they thought that person was looking at him funny. Those would be done with malicious intent.

I believe that parents that proceed with an abortion do not have any malicious intent in killing their unborn child. Unforuntately, certain situations may have arisen that have caused them to do something like this. Reasons vary, from the parent's irresponsibilities (should've used protection, my friends...) to even serious situations like a rape victim carrying the rapist's baby.

The key point in all of this is unless the parent's have any sort of malicious intent on killing their unborn child, I do not think abortion is considered as murder. However, I do consider that, still, as taking a life. I believe there is a difference between the two.

Anyways, abortion...lets see. Well, I cant really say I'm for it. A life is a life. plus you don't really know who your killing. You could be killing ther next ghandi...or Fredrrick Douglas, or someone of the sort. As far as it being murder. Murder is such a strong word for it. But yeah its definantly killing.

Technically, that argument can be applied to almost anything. Example: Inmates rarely form families, thus, imprisoning criminals could lead to the next Gandhi's parents never meeting.

Also, if a baby is born to parents that aren't ready for it, that baby is bound to have a horrible life. In most cases, the baby would grow up to be like the parents, and this cycle of irresponsibility continues.

Burn and tear it out? Are you refering to partial birth abortion? Because in my understanding, that is illegal.

Satirical Response: Yes, abortion should be made illegal. We should put the rights of the fetus before the rights of the mother, making her into a second class citizen merely to be used as life-support for a life-form inside her body without her consent.

Well, if one whom is pregnant and finds this out within the first 3 months and decided to abort it doesn't count as "murder" since its little heart doesn't even start beating until mid of third month. Either way I don't see it as murder. True, it's not the most cheerful of choices, but it is responsable.

Ontop of all that, there is already an over population, and the last thing we need are more unwanted children or children that aren't going to be cared for correctly.

It's more of a crime when wemon have children for money from the government. That's what alot of our tax money goes into.

To me, taking any life is murder, no matter what it is and no matter what stage of development it is in. That's how much I care! But, I don't care that I'm killing germs...that's a good thing.
