Anime in theaters?

How come when a big anime gets a english dub, it doesn't come out in theaters? I mean, I think it would be pretty cool. Oh, and sorry if this is in the wrong place. Its been a loooonnggg while since I've been on here.

Evangelion movies and Miyazaki movies get theater showings here.

Some theaters even have special anime events. Every Monday at one our theaters we have anime showings.

Really? I would like to see One Piece or something in theaters. I would be the first in line haha. Yeah sorry. I need to get familiar with the rules again :/

I've seen showings of all the animes mentioned here, but like Hiro mentioned I haven't seen any played in dub. All the ones to come out I have seen have been subbed.

On TV it's always english, in the cinema it's dubbed. At least that's how it is where I am.

This would never ever happen in the Netherlands. Anime isn't really known here, except for Dragon Ball Z which has aired for a period of time on tv, and Alfred J. Kwak. But majorly of the people don't even know that's anime. They think it's just a cartoon.

Same thing as above in Belgium. Most just think it's 'cartoons' and think it is childish without ever having seen an anime. This contributes to the lack of anime in theaters in Belgium. The only time I remember watching an anime film in theaters was Pokemon the first movie with mewtwo en mew, wich was awesome ofcourse. I remember getting an electrabuz pokemon card afterwards from the cinema aswell.

Seems today, in a cinema, someone put a Saint Seiya movie when there was another... That someone is a little famous where I live because he exposed intimate photos of celebrities...
