It's been some time since I've shared a poem and someone has convinced me that I should post this one, so here goes nothing~!
Shadow creeps upon us as Helios concludes his journeys, The skies of Zeus, by Dysis, are painted,
Ah, the Anemoi are once again at work, beckoning me
Perhaps they have called upon the aid of the Nephelai
for even the clouds bear meanings this sundown!
I hear the Anemoi, their faint murmurs steal across my skin,
A tingling sensation slinks ‘round my being
Melinda, Melinda, venture to the shores
Do you not await the one who rests beyond the waters
Melinda, wise maiden, perhaps Athena may convince thee?
Oh, how the Anemoi pull at my heartstrings,
Athena would, without a doubt, convince me,
But the judicious Goddess stands not before me, does she?
Arktos, I beg of thee, come quickly and darken the heavens
so that I may return to my home and think no more of this…
I wish not to be lured towards the waters
lest I become disheartened with what lies therein,
Yet the Anemoi call out to me:
Melinda, Melinda, venture to the shores
Would you not take chance and walk upon the sands
to see the one you pine for?
Melinda, sweet maiden, do you question what you feel in your heart?
Questions do indeed, from this, arise,
The heart speaks one faith and the mind another.
Thus, I am torn two ways and rendered unable to choose,
With weary eyes, I glance towards the seas
And remember my promises.
No, tonight, I shall not find myself upon the beach,
But I remain faithful, patiently awaiting your return
