I've been hearing these sorts of murmurings for a while, and to an extent I've geared my investments to do better under a period of devaluation or inflation and possible stock market volatility.

That said, while I'm sure some other countries would love to take over the dollars spot as the reserve currency of the world and it seems like the US is doing everything it can to sabatoge our hegemony, the rest of the world seems to not be doing much better. People are debating if the Euro will even be able to continue existing, and even China isn't able to control their inflation recently (you'd think if anybody could it'd be them).
