Am I the only one who is strongly disappointed?
new, as in a sequel, or new, as in a remake of the original?
The Brighter the Light the Darker the Shadow
Youtube always advertises like mad. Luckily, that doesnt mean you have to listen to them!
Either way, does it matter? They've been milking that franchise since the '60s without any real innovation. The first film was okay, partially due to the plot twist. The sequel was pretty bad. What came after it was atrociously bad, and the reboot was even more ridiculous. They should have stopped at the first film (which was based on a book, and thus had some effort put into the script), or possibly at the sequel. There is no justification for 7 films, 2 television series, a book based on the spin off, and comic books.

Seems like PETA had some sort of hand in the making. I don't know, just gives off their vibe to me.
Hey look, Japan made a movie about me!
the only thing I have to say about this movie (without seeing it mind you because I REALLY don't want to) is
"USE YOUR GUNS! SHOOT THE GOD DAMN MONKEYS! BECAUSE I THIS CRAPPY ORIGIN STORY SHOULDN'T HAVE BEEN MADE!!!"
Original film was pretty spiffy, as Eris said because of the plot twist, but the rest meh feck it.

*Ahem*
Quoting the trailer
Evil, stupid guy
"We're doing the tests on animals to save human lives!"
Wise, good girl
"Some things aren't meant to be changed."
And besides....the entire rebellion in the new movie is supposed to be cause be eeeevil research. Sounds pretty PETA to me.
Yeah, that's right. Am I the only one who finds it annoying that the apes are revolting against the modern, democratic america instead of...you know...Rome-like barbaric police state from the old movies?

Never even been tempted to watch any of the movies. The name gave away a lame plot and scene.
No, but the new movie seems to be the remake of the Conquest of the Planet of the Apes
In Conquest USA was a grim police state, and it's people were enjoying arena fights between enslaved apes.
Which I find more kinky then a pacifist society which has moral issues whether it is okay or not to experiment on damn animals.
Can play the piano any more?
Of course you can
Well I couldn't before
Dr Zaius dr Zaius
