No, I dont smoke and I never plan to. To put it bluntly, its disgusting. I have no problems with people who do smoke, its their choice and its none of my business but I'd rather not partake. Besides, I have asthma and I'm a bit allergic to cigarette smoke. I grew up in a house of smokers so now I can't be around it and I've seen how badly it can affect you if you smoke long-term =/

Hey it's your life honey. You find and learn from your own mistakes, it's just part of life. We all do things we regret so don't worry about it too much.

Some of my friends smoke all the time and I have managed not to even have one enter my mouth once. I could resist the erge with much ease because I knew that I did not want to do it full stop. One or two of my friends said that I should try it and I said "No". That was the last I heard of that.

Yes, Chemical based drugs are bad, Very very bad but natural substance.. I doubt they are going to kill anyone any faster than just smoking a cigarette would

Okay, I started this thread because my gf tried pot and I got angry with her, because she said no, but someone made her smoke it.

My GOD, no one can MAKE someone else smoke pot. You either have enough sense to say no or you don't. You either have enough sense to get out if they persist, or you don't. Obviously, she didn't have that sense. Pot is not that hard to resist, I have the willpower of a nympho in Chip N' Dales but even *I* can say no to pot when the situation arises.

Anyway, Pot and Cigarettes are very different, I don't understand what the point you're trying to make here is. Let's just put it this way, Cigarettes are legal, I smoke them because I'm addicted (I started to cope with depression and never stopped, bad idea in retrospect). I used to smoke pot, but no longer. It was illegal, I never bought it and I don't like always feeling like any noise I hear is the cops or my parents or blah blah but doing it alone is laaame.

@A O Discord: The problem with that is that Cigarettes will kill you much faster then Marijuana. And being "Chemical" over "Natural" doesn't even figure into it. Aspirin, for example, is a chemically based drug. It won't hurt you unless you OD on it. Yet Opium is nasty stuff, in spite of it's natural origin. It's all chemistry- the Natural vs. Chemical dichotomy is just a goofy Hippie lie.

I've tried smoking before, didn't like it. And those that do smoke can smoke it up for all I care, doesn't really bother me. What bothers me are those annoying anti-smoking commercials. Really, people should just be allowed to smoke respectably and not be harrassed about it. We're all slowly dying anyway, just that people who smoke die a little faster, and that's their choice. But that's just MY opinion...

I've smoked before when i was 13, but it was only one puff. I followed my friends to illegal clubbing when i was in HK during the age of 13, then i automatically got into my friends' cases. But i regretted tasting it, because the first puff actually gave me a terrible feeling of having something running through my brain. And that's the feeling of it.

As for the actual smoking... one puff will not make you an addict. I've smoked socially, cigars, cigarettes, colts and joints. I'm not addicted to any. I actually got physically ill from smoking a cigarette to quickly. Most. disgusting. feeling. ever.

Forgive your girlfriend, she's not going to be a pothead or any less then what she was for doing it. She at least told you and was honest. Give her props.

To the girlfriend, don't use the word force in context like that. You have to own up to YOUR actions.

My friend had me try it a year ago when I was 13 (just a puff)...it was pretty gross, it felt as if my lungs were choking--not my type of thing. My friend smokes ciggarettes and pot. I don't see why people freak about people doing pot, weed is all natural, not that I would do it, not my kind of thing.

On the contrary. You can not get addicted to the actual drug of Canabis, this is true...

But...

It is VERY possible to get addicted to the canabis high. Not just a high in general, weed has a particular kind of high unique to it that, when replicated in synthetic drugs, is done so poorly. I know plenty of people addicted to the high, and the fact that Marajuana itself, as a drug, is not an addictive substance is what I call "pro-pothead Propaganda", because addiction to the high is very real.

Well, here's a funny story about a time not too long ago, when someone almost pressured me into smoking pot. Alright, it was back in Febuary I think, and I was walking to school through the woods(which is a shortcut), and when I walked up a trail through a clearing on one of the hills, I saw a circle if kids, all huddled up like they were exchanging ideas for football. So then, I walked forward bravely(and I knew that if I were to be jumped, and had to fight, I'd be outmatched and outnumbered, so I was cautious and kept my cool). As I passed, one of them recognized me and immediately asked me, "Hey Cam, wanna smoke some pot with us??" And I said "No." As I walked away, I heard him say, "You'd better not snitch on us, or you're next!!" So I jammed my hands in my pocket, kept my head low, and left. And after that, people started asking me if I do smoke pot, or shoot up the 'ol opium. But I always keep telling these people, "No, I don't." Geez, just one incident practically ruined my life Ah well, there's my rant

Bottom line is(like people said above), it's up to you, if you wanna do it, then do it, if you refuse, then go right ahead, nobody's forcing you. But still, you're better without it. Always remember, that when something is repeated too many times, you believe in it, and then it becomes a habit. So why not make a habit of doing it less and less(if you're doing right now), so you can eventually quit?? But that's all up to you.

I smoked for 2 years but that was 3 years ago.
I can honestly say it is the worst habit anyone could have.

Smoking is a part of many cultures (not doing it like life depended on it), but part of religious and their belief rituals, medicinal purposes and of course something social.
Hate is a strong word and in my opinion if you hate smokers its being closed-minded.


And all those other things which are not viewed as bad such as burning incense candles and such is just as bad for your health as smoking.
