Yes. Only whole lot. It's such a unique and interesting series. If you liked it, I'd look into Bookiepop Phantom. It has a similar feel to it.

Absolutely. It single-handedly restored my faith in anime, if I hadn't seen it when I did I probably wouldn't be here right now.
I'll second the Boogiepop Phantom motion, it also happens to be one of my favorites. There's quite a similarity as far as atmosphere and unconventional story progression goes, but I would HIGHLY reccomend reading atleast the first light novel or the manga adaption of the said light novel "Boogiepop Doesn't Laugh" you'll get so much more out of the anime if you do. Also, if you haven't already; you should also check out the other series Yoshitoshi ABe has been involved in, they're all fantastic. And while ABe wasn't involved in this, most of the rest of the staff of Lain was; "Ghost Hound" is great as well. Sorry if that went a bit off topic, but more people need to see these; especially Lain fans.

The staff of SeL is also working on a new work called Despera... I'm so excited to see how that turns out. Anyone know anything else about that? I haven't been able to find much.

Awesome show. Enjoyed it immensely.
I enjoyed not having everything handed to me on a silver plate. I actually had to think to understand what was going on. I've watched about three times and picked up more things everytime. The ending is depressing too. They fact that they try to make it end on a little bit of a higher note only makes it worse, I think.
