How to Let Anime Forum in on News

For those that have not yet noticed, no one other than site staff can actually post in this forum. That doesn't, however, mean that you cannot contribute to the News and Stuff forum! So, before adding news to a topic that already exists here (or getting frusterated because you cannot create a new topic) please follow these guidelines:

Find a source or two. This is how we moderators can confirm that the news is valid. We will not post any news that does not have at least one source!
Write up a news story. Please take grammar and spelling into account. It is best if you write it on a word editor and use spell check before going on.
If it is appropriate, find a picture or two to go with the story. They may not always be included, but they are helpful.
PM all of this information to either myself or Sophonax. We will review the news story and post it. If we feel that it is not appropriate as news, we will let you know why so that you can make revisions.
When the story is posted, we will let everyone know that you are the person the information comes from. There may also be a monetary (rupees, not dollars) award and/or a reputation boost.

We don't let members post anything on this board because News should be researched completely. I get plenty of e-mails with incomplete information or rumors that people want to post on this board. We would like to be certain that something is really "news" and we'd like to have a good amount of information before it is posted on this forum.

Well I asked Princess Minako if I could do a monthly newspaper that would go out to all AnimeForum members and staff, threw mass e-mail or if I could post in here; still no reply yet.

EDIT: Well I just found out that I will be making a news column and Washiko will be posting it here.

Lets not take what I said out of context. I said that we don't do mass mailings but if you'd like you can research anime news, and submit it to Washiko. If it follows the rules set out in this thread she will post it with credit to you. I never said you were getting a news column that Washiko would post.

You may not just link to it. We will not post just a link. You may use that article to write your own article, and we would prefer that you use a few sources and give us links to all of them.

Um... totally wrong forum for that o_o They have an FAQ right next to your User CP, and you can ask about the wallpapers in a different forum

Sounds like a good exercise for any body who actually wants to study or practice on their informative essays. I like this rules, it makes me feel like i am not going to waste my time on reading. Thanks for this post, and I just might go and find myself some news to share... anyways... the news... they can only be based on animes and mangas? or anything that can be related to tv and/or music? Asian? I mean what kind of context can be submitted besides animes of course..?

News concerning anime, manga, other comics, industry news, music, fashion, conventions, live action dramas/films etc, are accepted. If in doubt, write and submit the article anyway, one of the staff will review it and decide if it is acceptible.

Remember to spell check!
