For a first try [or close to it] they need to be a little more sharpened. They are way too blurry. The font on the first one seems really misplaces but you did better with the font effect on the second one. The sizes are alright though. I'm saying that because most beginners have no idea what type of size a signature should have.

Either ditch that image entirely or find a bigger sized one with better quality. Another thing you must learn with design is NEVER EVER stretch an image [unless you have constrained proportions that remain equal] Also you can resize bigger things to small but not smaller things to big. You must remember that.. It's critical. It's why so many renders are so omg huge one eye like takes up your whole screen sorta deal.

Next a border might look good on it. You did sharpen it but with the poor quality it still looks blah. :/

See thats the problem the image does not fit the signature it terms of width. :| because you have to stretch it. though the smaller one does seem lightly better than the previous IMO. But you'll need an image that is wider than the signature you're dealing with :/

I'm have no knowledge on how to make a sig but isn't it the same concept as art?
make what you like and if others disapprove that's there problem. don't get me wrong I'm not trying to be judgmental, but I personally liked the first one just fine.
And the newest one looks good to. also I know you guys are just trying to help. All I'm saying is beauty is in the eye of the beholder

I think you should try using an image where most of the person's body is present in the image and the image is a nice size. It's an annoyance when an image is cut off(like the hair in your original image) and is small, because it makes it difficult to edit to make a signature with.
