Thought it could be abit interesting to know what languages you people speak and/or understand, myself I can speak and understand Swedish, Norska, Dansk and abit of german(just alittle bit, but not sentences xD).

Speak:

1. Ruby aka The Language of Gods

2. Python -- inferior to Ruby
3. C -- though it's a powerful language, I hate the fact that you spend 10% of your time writing something and 90% *FIXING* it. Use Ruby. The end.
4. JavaScript -- only because using Ruby in HTML is not exactly a feasible idea (And JQuery is a library, you up there)
5. Nostalgia language: BASIC -- I dropped it when I was like 16... But I still remember the good ol' days of FreeBASIC, the community, the weekly magazine, having to deal with the crappy Windows API, the lame RPGs, using MS Paint to create the "sprites"... Ahhhh *nostalgia*)

Planning to learn:

• Haskell/Scheme/Lisp -- Functional languages and Ruby are like... mathematics and physics... in some respects. So I suppose Haskell > Ruby. Haskell seems to be made of pure AS and raw epicness.

To interact with "human beings":

• If they're 2D, I use Japanese.
• To interact with 3D people online, I use English and Japanese.
• To interact with 3D people in the 3D world, I use my native language.

 

Hopefully that ridiculous Ruby fanaticism sounded convincing... I dislike fanatics as much as you do, I swearz!

 

And just in case, I'm just kidding (actually, always just kidding) about the "2D" and "3D" thing...

 

Or am I not? ... Who knows?
