Ah, the new leveling system has me excited.

It seems that, unlike oblivion, all your abilities will contribute to your overall experience growth, as opposed to choosing a handfull of them at the start to level up off of.

This way is better because you'll be gaining experience based on the skills you actually use, rather than the ones you think you will use.

Also, I hope some skills return, like short blade and long blade. And spear. I liked those skills in Morrowind.

The only skill i know they brought back from Morrowind so far that ive heard of is Enchanting

I did all missions in Oblivion. There was over a 100 xD
I like to explore.
I even did the Shivering Isles missions and the Knights of the Nine mission.
I`ll probably do every mission in Skyrim too, with help of course :P

Ah so looking forward to play in that country, it looks really cold on the map posted here xD
And I`m really curious about how this will be a continuation to Oblivion, I`ve read some rumours about that somewhere else.

Don't take it the wrong way though. I have nothing against Elder Scrolls, I'm just not all that interested in all RPGs. If I ever get Oblivion I'd like to try to finish it. Again, I want Skyrim, or at least a demo to see if I want to play through it.

Apparently, there is gonna be a Collector's Edition, or so says the people at Gamestop. I hope there is some good crap in it, and I hope I don't miss it, like I did New Vegas. O_o

Oddly enough, I feel that since it might get the CE, it's gonna do great, but that's my perspective using only a few games that have done that as a guide. It could fail, but probably not.

At least, I hope not. I'm not reserving it for nothing. o.o

This elder scrolls looks amazing. I can't wait until it comes out. I didn't like oblivion as much as I liked Morrowind but this one looks pretty sick.

Three new Dragon Shouts are also described:

- "Yol Toor": Fire Breath
- "Iiz Slen": Ice Crystals
- "Strun Bah Qo": Lightning Storm
- Slow Time
- Whirlwind Spirit (quickly move in one direction)

In combat, torches are now also able to be used as a weapon. The possible dual-wielding combinations are:

- Weapon and weapon
- Weapon and shield
- Weaon and torch
- Spell and weapon
- Spell and shield*
- Spell and torch*
- Torch and shield*
- Spell and Spell
- Two-handed weapon

*These aren't mentioned, but it makes sense they'll be in, too.

The random quests generated by the game's Radiant Story-mechanic were inspired by the random encounters in Fallout 3. The people at Bethesda didn't like how 'fake' some of the quests in Oblivion felt, and hope to make the ones in Skyrim feel more 'real'.

There are 13 different types of ore to be used for your Crafting/Smithing skill. There's also an unfortunate casualty: Hand to Hand has been removed.

There are 60.000 lines of recorded dialog in the game, with a lot more voice actors than in Oblivion or Fallout 3 (for reference: Fallout 3 had 40.000 recorded lines). Three new factions are also confirmed (alongside the Dark Brotherhood):

- The Thieves Guild
- The College of Winter Hold (for Mages)
- The Companions (for Warriors)

The stories told in these faction questlines will be interwoven with one another, and with the main questline.

Each city in the world has an unique economy, which the player can sabotage, should they so desire. Cities are still patrolled by guards, but they're no longer the omniscient killing machines they were in Oblivion. Bounties the player can incur are also no longer valid throughout the land: for instance, if you kill someone in Hold A, the guards in Hold B will not arrest you for it.

As for traversing the world, you get a few options. Horses are back, and according to the article actually handle like horses this time. The fast-travel system from Morrowind returns as well, with carriages able to transport you to all the major settlements in Skyrim right from the start. Oblivion's fast-travel also returns, but only for locations you've already discovered.

There are also new screenshots described, though I haven't seen them for myself yet. These include a battle with a Draugr, a campsite near a river, a new type of fire spell, a female human character walking towards a city, a close-up of a female (possibly Imperial) warrior, a guard in Legionnaire armor and a bearded Nord in a castle, armed with a Warhammer.

And if you can dual wield spells I hope you can combine spells. Though if you can craft spells like in Oblivion that wont be needed. Now that I think about it, I hope the game isn't as easy to break as Oblivion. Really one spell for max healing and chameleon and one that combines different elements for damage. And I'll also be willing to bet there will be a mod to dual wield two-handed weapons.
