He's alright now though, I got really mad at him for being depressed and stuff haha but he's fine now, it seems.

WoW was released when I was in High School. Several people tanked their grades and basically threw away their future because of that game.

Hmm... I once know this guy who was otherwise a great, inteligent guy, but he was a jehova's witness. Naturally he (and other religious people) will think otherwise but imo, he was really throwing his life away. It limits how much you can think for yourself, puts constraints on your personal life and hardly gives anything in return either. Not being able to do at thing about was a bit frustrating, especially cause he was my friend and as i said, otherwise a great guy.

Well one of my friends almost did. He was going to move to Missouri to get a "new start". He has not gotten a degree or anything, he'd just be floating from fast food place to fast food place. He's in a much better situation right now, where he doesn't have to pay for an apartment.

Plus I don't think he was really looking for a new start. Thsi girl he has been obsessed with's family lives up there, and he was moving up there with them... She is the one he needs to distance himself from. She just uses him.

But since He hasn't moved and I haven't heard him talk about it I have hope that he's not going to do that after all.

I had a friend in high school who got a scholarship to a pretty good school, but chose to go move somewhere else with his high school sweet heart. He found out a few months ago that he threw his life away.

I don't have a friend like that but I have a family member who used all his money on beer and drugs. He ended up losing his home and family, and now goes around sleeping at different houses (I guess they are his "friends"). Sometimes his parents will let him visit but not sleep there, since it's his fault and he's not trying to get a job and stop drinking.

I think it's safe to say that I was a HUGE failure at life for a few years. I dropped out of school and didn't give a damn about anything that revolved around responsibitily. I was hanging with the wrong crowd and just overrall being a bad teenager. However, I was also depressed and only the last 6 monthes, I've been bringing myself back up. It's like one morning I woke up and realized that I was throwing my life away. I didn't want to become a nobody, and ever since then I had fallen back on track. (:
