[Help - Hardware] Looking for laptop.

I am currently looking to but a laptop and was hoping some of you more tech savvy people could help. I want to use it mostly for video editing and music composition and my budget is up to €1000. I was looking at this ASUS. Any thoughts? Got a better recommendation?

I'm recommend you to use laptop with Core i3 processor or above with nVidia/ATI graphic card. There are quite a number of laptop within your 1000 pounds budget in that website like this, this and this. As for Acer you can get a higher hardware specifications at your desired spending budget. However, you have to aware the trade-off of buying Acer products. They able to crunch all the high-end hardware onto their product using cheap components which its reliability is questionable. Based on my experience, these laptops will have some sort of problem (software or/and hardware) within a year if the users pay little/no attention on maintenance and care. This case might also apply on HP and Dell line of products
If you want laptop with a good hardware specifications and good reliability, you need to spend extra 500 pounds more.

I like the look of both these Sonys but I really dig this Asus. I'm posting them in case anyone spots a glaring problem with them that I don't know of(a friend pointed out to me today that a 32 bit windows 7 can only use 3 gb of ram).

My input may be incorrect but you don't need a powerful rig to run such software, then again it matters on the ones you're using.

Is the video editing software Sony Vegas Pro/Adobe Premier?

32-bit ...and true, it can address up to ~3GB of ram (eventho Vista/7 can show up to 4GB)
