It's hard to draw conclusions based on the demo. While there were certainly things I did not like, I think the fact that it seems like a hour-long mindless brawl is because it has been stripped of a lot of the surrounding story. If you took the Human Noble background in Origins and removed all the plot leaving just the fighting, it would probably feel much the same.

Keep in mind that Germany was in terrible fighting shape just some 15 years before it proceeded to conquer most of Europe in WWII.

And since NK joins with the SK, they not only have one of the world's biggest armies, they also have one of the world's most technologically advanced armies. Combine that with two decades of waning American economy, as well as a devastating initial EMP-attack sending pretty much all civilian infrastructure back to the 19th century, and it isn't that unthinkable.

So I tried Bulletstorm and I really like it, it has this score system just like Vanquish and you can always try to beat it or/and send it to friends as a challenge for them to beat it. It reminded me of Blur, and that's one thing that made Blur really fun, so I will enjoy it in Bulletstorm as well.
