Grisly murders, deadly nightmares, and a marriage proposal followed immediately by a one-night-stand? What exactly is going on in Atlus' Catherine? the game's official website gives us the skinny. The Japanese website for Atlus' Persona side-story Catherine has updated its story section, and Japanese gaming website Adriasang has translated the details, shedding light on what up until now has looked like a game about naked women and nightmares.
Don't worry, it's still about naked women and nightmares.
The back story for the game, like many Persona titles, involves urban legends and murder. Young men have been found dead in their beds, terrified expressions frozen on their faces. Rumors have begun to surface that if you begin to have a nightmare you must wake up immediately or die.
The game starts off with Vincent, our lanky hero, hanging out at a bar with Katherine. Having dated for five years, Katherine suggests the pair gets married. Vincent freezes, as men often do.
Then a mysterious girl named Catherine enters the bar and takes a seat next to Vincent. He ends up taking her home and sleeping with her. You can see bits of this in the opening trailer we posted last month.
Then the nightmares begin.

I've been playing this all night. I have to admit, that this is one of the first games in a while that has given me a challenge on hard but it's bloody fun. The story is great (Gotta love both sides of catherine, although Catherine > Katherine for me), the puzzles can get a little repetitive but I enjoy the challenge so it's great.

It also has that persona feeling too, music and animation. I'm only on stage 4 but enjoying every minute.

It's only out for Xbox 360, and that's only Japan...unless you mean the demo. v_v

I've been following news on the game since it was announced (loved the Persona games).
Atlus announced today that it will be released here in the US in the summer.

Well I do love most games that Atlus makes *my love of Persona 4 should be seen* though this game being an Adult puzzle game makes question but I will wait and see and try to get the demo.

Well, since the game is out in America....


Ive been playing it for the past few days, though I have to admit, I started a new game on easy mode. This game is challenging! But since I wanna play through the whole story first, I started a new game on easy so I can just breeze through it for the story, then go back to my normal game for the puzzles.

Im loving all the Persona voices appearing in the game! Catherine is Rise, Erica is Yukari, the strange voice is Reoji/Pheros, Orlando is Akihiko, Toby is MC from P3/ Youske, etc. Its nice to hear them all~

I'll either be picking this up in the near future or borrowing it but from what i've seen and played of it it's definitely something i must add to my collection as soon as possible. Though my need for a great challenge will force me to play this on the hardest difficulty the first playthrough as i must with all games.

Nah, easy is pretty easy. Now normal on the other hand is pretty difficult.

Ever since I Saw it and heard about it, I was interested, now that I've played the demo I will definitely be getting it. besides, I like games like these so regardless how hard I will have fun with it.

I downloaded the demo and played through it, loved it.

When I was done with the second puzzle and it told me, "Demo Over," I cried a little inside.

Got this over the weekend and have been playing on hard, the difficulty is higher than i expected but it's quite the experience. I've been averaging a day or two per night so I'm currently on day 5. Definitely one of my favorite games at the moment.

I was somewhat disappointed with its release, especially after how good the persona series was. But since it's getting such good reviews here? About Atlus reusing the english voice actors...there's only a limited amount of Japanese game-dubbing voice actors; and besides, they're not bad, either.
