You absolutely have no idea how hard it was to get rid of of that bad taste in my mouth after watching it. Ugh...

Haruhi only has 6 episodes, titled "The Melancholy of Suzumiya Haruhi" parts 1 through 6... and they are really the whole thing. The rest of the first season is mostly random herp-derp, and that "episode 0" is plainly unwatchable.

The "second season" has only one episode (the one Kyon time-travels to the past). The rest of it is a single fan service episode repeated 8 times, and a 5 episodes-long version of that "episode 0" crap.

Haruhi's anime sucks, regardless of whether or not its concept would fly. It might be fine with you if you like light novels, but it sucks otherwise.

Regardless of my opinion about it, an anime would deserve its own sub-forum when there can be much discussion and debating about it... which is obviously not the case with Haruhi.

It was the first proper anime I watched, and I absolutely loved it... but after watching others a good while after, I realised that overall the anime wasn't that good. Though I'd still love for a new season to come out, there's plenty of room for improvement, and you wouldn't have to worry about anything like Endless Eight anymore.

I loved the series and while i did have a problem with the second series i still suggest it to friends who are new to anime. I also can't wait to watch the movie but the 3rd and 4th light novels should hold me off until it's December release.

Though I skipped the 7`th ep of Endless 8 :P But that arc was genius, since it will make the viewers feel what the characthers feel

That arc was retarded. If there were ever an award given for "Stupidest Directorial Decision", it would be for creating all of those episodes.

With that new movie, (not so new anymore) some spin-offs like nagato yuki-chan no shoushitsu and the melancholy of haruhi-chan and original anime + light novels, this franchise might have enough material for a sub-forum of it's own. Dunno.

As for the series itself, I loved it, even if endless eight drove me mad. The light novels rock, the movie rocks, and all the spin-offs make me laugh so hard. Well, Nagato Yuki-chan no Shoushitsu is also damn cute. (Never knew nagato could be so moe!)

I thought the first season of the TV series was pretty good. I've only read a bit of the light novels, so I can't really attest to their value, but presumable they are better than the anime derivative. Endless eight wasn't a big deal, in my opinion. It was pretty obvious from the second repetition what was going to happen. At that point, you could have stopped watching.

However, Haruhi certainly doesn't deserve it's own sub-forum/category/section/whatever. Although it is popular, there really isn't enough to discuss about it to garner it's own section.

Ahaha I didn't even survive that. I got to like episode 5 and was like screw this!!! Then proceded to go on a mad rampage.

But Haruhi will probably eventually be a classic in the otaku culture. I do enjoy the show very much.

Then they had Haruhi-chan.. A low budget web series by the same company.. It was odd and I didn't make it through that either... But the main show was quite well done!

Regarding the anime series, I love the 1st season but 2nd season killed me in epd 5... I was wondering "am I watching the same ting over and over and over and over again? wth is wrong wif the anime!!??!" and stopped watching the rest....

I've only recently watched the 1st season. It was very good. I've read the first volume... but I rather the manga.
My friend says that the second season is very boring... I still wouldn't mind watching it though.

Season 1 was amazing. Season 2 was rather redundunt however i likeed it because in the "Endless eight" episodes it changed a little bit as the episode progressed and it was exciting in its own way.
I loved the series because it showed me there can be interesting things in a boring town.

I myself have gotten into the SUZUMIYA series in a big way just recently. so far, i've only recently watched the 1st season.

i ended up getting the 2007 MegaHouse 27cm doll of her a couple years ago; long before i recently got around to finally picking up the first season set;

I think you're misunderstanding something here. He's asking why there is no Haruhi section on this forum. Reason being there's not much enough dicussion about the series to warrant a sub-forum, and that is entirely due to the fact that the series ended 4 years ago. As a series airs there will be growing conversation over it, and that will increase toward the end of the series broadcast. Sometime after this the discussion of a series will reach its peak, and then will fall off because people don't have much more left to say. I am not saying the series is old and should be put up on the shelf, I'm saying that the discussions have been had and they're not being had anymore.

As do a large portion of people on this forum. My personal interest in anime is focused on mecha series from the 70s and 80s. You're not special, though certainly overzealous.
