Why does Orihime

SUCK SO GOD DAMN MUCH, seriously, she used to be cool as well, now all she seems to be able to do is shriek "KUROSAKI KUN" at the top of her shrill little voice every five cocking minutes. Its a shame to be honest because she was one of the better characters in earlier seasons; sympathetic back-story, endearing personality etc.

so come on, penny for your thoughts AF, whats your take on Orihime's demotion from "Kooky comic relief" to "Appendix love interest/Plot device"

Feminine side of the audience? o.O Lol. I dunno about any other girl out there-but I've no wish to be a big breasted damsel in distress *all* the time-or watch one. xD Though you're right in a way, I think she was put in cause they needed someone who needed to be rescued all the time I guess.

And she does have her small uses. She can create barriers and heal...Which is a step up from the 4th Division Captain even, since as far as I know-she can only heal.

IMO, Rukia is much more interesting and has more personality than Orihime though. :x

Without Orihime, there'd be no Ichigo. Without Ichigo, thered be no Bleach. Useless if an awefully wrong term to use when Orihime is the subject. Just because she doesn't fight or know how to fight doesn't make her useless. If any of you actually paid attention to the manga/anime you'd understand that Ichigo's whole reason of fighting is because of Orihime. It's basically about him protecting what he (secretly loves) but can't admit it.

In turn, Orihime is also the one that ends up helping Ichigo( and friends) That's pretty much NOT so useless.

I dunno...I don't think Ichigo *loves* Orihime. I think he just sees her as a friend. Bleach fails to lend itself to any real romance whatsoever. Don't see any flame between Ichigo and-anyone. Though that's my opninion granted.

His destiny is to protect, he went to Hueco mundou to protect Orihime, but once he was there it was changed from him just getting her back, to protecting the city he's from


The reason he keeps fighting is because he doesn't want to fail at protecting the one's he cares about. He thnks he failed at that with hs mother, so that's when he cant fail again.

I actually agree with you. Ichigo relies more on Rukia then any other character.

Ichigo's character would still thrive even or Orihime was no more.

Also Ichigo didn't choose to fight in the beginning. As a matter of fact, I was pretty sure he was threatened into doing it. Also, what ever happened to that little girl spirit that was first introduced to us way back in the very beginning of the manga? Actually, to add to that. Where did everyone else go? Did they stop existing or something?

All of this going on and they don't even bother to show 1 or even half a panel to show people who are currently dead/unconscious/near dead/CUT IN HALF. Whatever happened to the person that was cut in half anyways?

I think everybody knows that without ichigo there would be no bleach, and thats because he is the main character.. It's like saying "Without Naruto, thered be no Naruto" ?.. :S

I've always liked Orihime, although I usually have a soft spot for tough female characters. I think a character that isn't tough is needed every once in a while for there to be some diversity. Her healing technique is pretty awesome. Her crush on Ichigo is quite sad and makes me feel bad for her because Ichigo loves Rukia, or at least he does in my opinion. Overall, I like her. Oh, and by the way, the English voice actor is a lot less annoying than the Japanese one if your going by voice.

In fact she's far from it.
She adds a lot of emotion to the anime, especially her feelings for Ichigo.
Definitely she is useful as she can heal pretty much anything....
And to top it all off she's pretty hotxD

And she had some awesome moments such as when Aizen described her as the power to change fate or when she easily broke into the Vizard's barrier.
Though nowadays all I see of her is crying or moping. Even her healing powers have been unused/ineffective lately with practically all the characters being all to heal themselves for some odd reason. And my last hope, as a love interest for Ichigo has been crushed by Kubo since he specifically states in 90% of his interviews that he does not plan to add romance to Bleach (notice all the couples are dead)
