You are a vegetarian, just not a hardcore vegetarian. Fore the most part I hate vegetarians. Not ones whio do it for health or whatever, but those who think they are bvetter than everyone else because they don't eat animals and those who do it for animal rights, but mostly just those who do it and look down on everyone else for not being one.
I have nothing against vegetarians, some of the people in my family are one. ;/ I think its just their choice if they want to be one or not.
I'm not a big fan of meat, and if I'll have meat it would be a small portion of it. I love eating white meat, like chicken, fish, etc. Red meat isn't my thing though. Vegetables, I love them only when they're cooked. I hate salad, unless I get a hold of honey mustard. lol Sometimes I feel bad eating meat, thinking like "how would I like it if I was eaten?" I take it out of my mind and just say that its good.
I don't see how can anyone can hate Vegetarians. O_o there's nothing wrong with being one.
Well, most of my friends who "turned" Vegetarians were because they wanted to do a diet, just that.
I dislike when people do the vegetarian thing to loose weight its not reason why vegetarianism was invented I think its an insult.
A diet should be a healthy lifestyle, not deprivation of other nutrients. :I
I think of dieting as a change for a healthy lifestyle with a balance of all sorts of food with limitations, followed by exercises. Being a vegetarian doesn't do the job completely. I know some vegetables have some kind of protein, but its not as efficient as protein in meat.
Source? I've read it in some health magazines in doctors offices~
You're a vegetarian. A vegetarian for me is someone who uphold the idea of being vegetarian, whether or not he or she is a pure vegetarian or not. Some vegetarians I know, eat meat or fish once a week, on advice of a doctor or nutritionist.
I respect other people being vegetarians or not, regardless of their motive or intentions.

There are no rules about that sort of thing. You are what you choose to be.

Different people have different views of it - if you don't eat meat, but you still eat fish and/or eggs and/or dairy, some people will say you're a semivegetarian, or perhaps a pescetarian.
Personally, I'm not a big fan of meat, either. I'm a pescetarian - I eat eggs and drink milk (I eat fish, but I really only like salmon anyway), but no meat.
A lot of people advocate the health benefits of a vegetarian diet; however, you have to make sure you can make up the essential fatty acids, protein, and cholesterol you're missing out on with some other foods. That's why tofu is such a popular food among vegetarians - it's very high in protein. (It's also delicious. Don't let the stereotype fool you - firm tofu cut into cubes, marinated in teriyaki sauce and pan-fried in sesame oil is a delight.)
As for ideological reasons... I don't necessarily have any qualms about eating animals, but I do have a problem with unsanitary, inhumane, and environmentally destructive conditions and practices of factory farms in America. Some farmers also inject their animals with chemicals and hormones to try to make them more palatable, some of which are suspected of causing, or linked to, adverse effects in humans.
That, more so than qualms about eating meat, is my reason for wanting to shift to a pescetarian/vegetarian diet. Of course, there are a lot of products we use besides foods that are made from animals, which may come from factory farms... it's more about where you're buying from than what you're buying, in most cases.
In other words: If you're eating a steak from a cow that was raised on a healthy diet, on a clean farm, not injected with any hormones or chemicals (such as bovine growth hormone), and killed humanely, I have no problem with that.

We are omnivores so we have the luxury of both food diets and therefor we require the nutrients that both provide.
Before I get started:
1. Vegetarianism wasn't "invented", so don't kid yourself into thinking that there is a specific ideal attached to it.
2. Its rather interesting to be insulted by the actions of other vegetarians when your actions as a vegetarian are being called into question.
Anyway, vegetarianism is defined as abstaining from the consumption of animal flesh. Since a fish is an animal, you are technically not a vegetarian if you eat fish. Vegetarianism gives leeway when it comes to eating animal products (such as eggs, milk, gelatin, etc) but not when it comes to animal flesh.
What you are is a pescetarian, a person who excludes all animals except fish (yes...there is a word for that). This is basically what the Japanese were before we Americans introduced them to the wonderful world of steaks and BigMacs.
I can't really criticize the individual practices of vegetarians since I am basically a carnivore. I prefer a nice, big, juicy steak over a salad any day of the week. I will say that I am addicted to V8.
This is my war face.
This is what happens to trolls who mess with me.
You're not a Vegetarian, a Vegetarian eats no animal meat. Last time I checked Fish are Animals.
The correct term for your diet would be "Peskitarian"
As a vegetarian, I choose not to eat meat or fish.
Not because of my morality, but just because I don't like meat.
I've been vegetarian since I was 5. ._.
I think I'd starve if I ever tried to become a vegetarian. Meat & fish are such a big part of my diet. My two favorite foods are steak and crawfish. However I do not particularly mind people who are vegetarians but if you come to my house you'll find little to eat maybe some canned veggies but that is it.
Side note: If you eat fish I still don't think you're a vegetarian. People have already posted the name for that but yeah. Fish are living creatures as well ya know. I mean I know you don't get to pet them and socialize with them at the petting zoo and give them your sympathy but they are still living things.... And quite yummy too.

i could probably go vegetarian but the human body was designed for an omnivourous diet so i prefer not to.
There are that many different types of vegetarian these days that the whole thing strikes me as being stupid.
I'm fine with *some* vegetarians, but others drive me insane - the ones who crap on about how superior they are and all that other nonsense. Actually had one of them protesting outside a KFC throw red paint at me and call me a murderer. I was good - I didn't take a blunt object out of my car and bludgeon him to death with it, no, I bought a can of green paint from a nearby hardware store (thick and oil based because I'm evil like that), and returned, splattered him with it and mentioned that vegetables were living things too and a bunch of obscenities that if I were to type them word for word here not only would Eris probably ban me, she'd probably also throw a party upon hearing of my death (presuming I cark it first).
But yeah, regardless of what their diet is, if they don't act like elitist pricks they're all good.

That one line is what dumbfounds me about some vegetarians. Do you go out and kill your dinner in the buffet line at kfc??? Nope. You did not partake in any sort of action resulting in the death of the chicken yet just because you eat it you are blamed for it? Thats decent logic right there. Has anyone ever heard of the food guide pyramid? Your body needs dairy and meat products.
Seriously though if the vegetarian extremist have a problem with people eating because something had to die because of it then they should stop living. Like stated vegitable are living things too. Tree's are living things but I'm sure they still drive a car. Use electricity perhaps...But they don't quit doing those things? Why do they force other people to quit eating something x.X Animals can eat other animals but we can't???? oh my my my.

I eat vegetables, I eat meat, I really couldn't care less which one it is so long as it tastes good and keeps me full.
Also, I lol at how some people seem to make accepting the "vegetarianism lifestyle" to have the same sort of social caliber as something like.. sexual orientation. I mean really now? Have we become -that- egotistical that we get into huge ideological arguments over what we decide to shove down our throats?
The Brighter the Light the Darker the Shadow

There are ideological arguments on basically everything, the basis of this one is much more than just what we eat. What we eat is a slightly odd topic, but it does have some good points. However, those who argue about fashion make me face-palm to the extreme...
It's true that some KFC protesters have a problem with people eating animals, period. That said, the main focus of the anti-KFC movement is not a problem with people eating animals, but a problem with animal cruelty - which goes on in other places, to be sure, but is something KFC is particularly well-known for.
There's a mini-movement among animal rights activists called "meat from happy animals" which contests that eating meat is okay as long as the animals are bred, treated, and slaughtered humanely (as much of an oxymoron as that sounds). I think this is mostly an opposition to factory farms, which pack animals into tight spaces with unsanitary, environmentally-destructive conditions, in an attempt to maximize output while reducing costs.
Maximizing output while reducing costs is the same reason farm animals may be malnourished or underfed to save money, or injected with hormones and chemicals (such as bovine growth hormone) - which, according to a recent study by a consumer advocacy group, may contain increased levels of cancer-causing hormones, lower nutritional value, and increased somatic cell counts. This, in my opinion, is the real problem.
Just remember, two wrongs don't make a right... just because a vegetarian gets in your business about eating meat doesn't mean getting in a vegetarian's business about not eating meat is any better. Try to remember that there are sane vegetarians out there...

Vegetables feel pain too ;_;
This is a Sig. It's horribly out of date.
Umm...I think I'll just stick to the mostly meat, little veggie diet. I couldnt give a whup about someone saying that I'm a killer or a murderer. Survival of the fittest, I always say.
I believe if you eat veg and fish you are a vegan I think
Veganism
Vegans don't eat any animal products :/
ahhhh fair enough.
I wonder what its like being a freeganist?
