Default Correlations Between Learning & Leisure; Overall Happiness Factor

So, over the past few days, I've been trying to figure out a way to create a visual model of how to best implement the highest amount of resources to produce the largest amount of synapse- connections in the brain; AS it correlates to overall happiness as a factor.

So, I thought; What would be the best way to generate neuro-connections while still keeping "fun" intact?

As it turns out, It's somewhat more difficult than anticipated. I require some assistance. So far, this is what I have in the way of some sort of diagram:

I decided to go with a partial equilibrium diagram used in economics.

But this does not do much justice to those things that are BOTH leisure-ish and build synapse connections.

I was thinking that this could be somewhat fixed by doing a sort of "points" method, whereby the two would cancel eachother out, and the net gain/lose would be the result in question.

Such as; Doing A yields 1 point of resource to Time allocation, 2 points of "fun", 1 point of productivity, etc. Though, I'm not sure how I could, once again, create a generic diagram with that.

What do you guys think? I know I probably messed up somewhere here in an obvious way in that I missed something or another..

hmm. somwhat complicated to read, correct me if i'm wrong. your overall learning is at it's best when you spend rather large amount of resources on learnin but you're still having somewhat fun. I'd understand that, nothing goes well, if all that's going through yer head is "boring, boring... asobitaii"

that's how i'd draw a curve to describe it. well, boredom does not drop automatically, but ye get what i mean?

rather than drawin complicated curves, i'd make a pie chart of time spend awake in a week with different slots for activities. You can also try keepin some kind of point book on things you're doin.

Another thing to do here is to come up with actual activities that are either fun and super quick or both fun and neuro-connection creating. Personally, I find reading magazines like Science fun, yet it still boosts learnin. While reading heavier stuff or dealing with a project, setting up daily goals and keeping short breaks helps a lot.

I'm tired and I have only skimmed through your post, so I'm not entirely sure what it's about. But I'm fairly confident that this is your problem.

This graph doesn't really make any sense. It's saying that if you spend enough time studying it suddenly is no longer boring to study. A 2D graph with one line can only compare the relationship between two spectrum.

The supply and demand graph in economics has meaning, and I can't see the meaning in yours. Leisure is a lack of allocation of resources. Demand is not a lack of price but the representation of the relationship between quantity and price from the buyer's perspective.

Wio, notpickin is not actually gonna solve anythin. I mentioned the problem of the graph in my own post, yet you still picked it apart... Mind posting stuff that actually deals with the topic at hand?

The way I see it, generally the more educational/productive something is, the less fun it is.
You can dress up a chore to make it seem a little fun but compared to things that are designed more or less solely for leisure they're still quite easily picked as a chore.

But way too many exceptions for any graph I create to portray anything realistic.

Well, I'm trying to figure out exactly what the heck you were both talking about.

My idea, when it comes to learning is that people very rarely don't learn the things they actually need to know. Some information is completely useless to some people. For example, geography is completely useless to me as I don't travel. People might find it silly that I know so little geography, but I don't care and it really has not hurt me.

Then there is more complex knowledge. This knowledge is, for the most part, useless to the individual. If you actually want a job that utilizes this information your major will force you to learn it. The only other reason you would learn it is because you enjoy studying it. In that case, there shouldn't be too much of a problem.

    Here's what I think...

The best way to get people to learn is to have fun at the same time. Only problem I face is that most teachers that I had in my lifetime never gave me the fun factor in lessons/lecture/teachings. So most of the time, I fall asleep. Although my chemistry teacher did do some fun labs like making ice cream by hand. So to sum it down, give them something to do that is fun so that they can actually be productive.

At least that's the way I see it although it may not be relevant.
