There are many sad songs that I listen too, for example, 1,2,3,4 by Plain White Ts

but really, I find Japanese soundtracks more sad, even though I barely know what they are saying. For example (I always refer to this) Clannad's soundtracks are really sad.

I honestly think one of theee saddest songs, and possibly might be the saddest song for me, is Paint Me Over by Amerie, because I can really relate to feeling exactly like this.

Billie Holiday's version of "Gloomy Sunday" is one of the best. Cat Steven's "Trouble", Rufus Wainwright's live version of "Goodnight Sweetheart", and one version of the Irish folk song "The Butcher Boy" by The Clancy Brothers are my other favorites.

"Art of Life" (moreso bittersweet) by X Japan.

...in fact, a LOT of X Japan is melancholic and beautiful.
