Well of Dreams

My cherished well of hopes and dreams.
Purified waters; I treasure you so.
Rid my thirst and give me strength.
Be my reason to keep on living.

No one dare to take a sip.
I will defend it with all my might.
It took so much to find these waters.
And I will not surrender them easily.

Yet with all of this protection,
The waters slowly start to change.
My mind begins to get all murky,
The well, it darkens much the same.

These murky waters are still my dreams,
The ones that rid my thirst and hunger.
Stagnant waters, I cherish you so,
Slowly poisoning my ambition.

But you come in and take my hand,
You clear my mind as I revel in light.
Once again I’m filled with hope.
Now I know which course to take.

My cherished well of hopes and dreams.
Once again you’re in pristine state.
Rid my thirst and give me strength.
Let her be the reason to keep on living.
