If you could ask your pet one question and they'd answer you in perfect English (or whatever language you speak), what would it be? After they've answered your question they'll go back to normal and never speak English or whatever again.

If It were me I'd ask them what their favorite brand(s) of food were so I would know what to get them.

My dog's left forepaw is slightly twisted. When we adopted him, the shelter explained that he was already like that and that they don't know how it happened. So I would ask him how it happened. It doesn't affect his running or anything, but it is the biggest mystery about him.

I have two dogs, so to the first I'd ask "Why do you like cooked carrots so much?" and to the second "Why do you insist on beat me, the floor, and the furniture with that club you call a tail?" She comes over and sits or stands, and if you don't pet her she thumps her tail on something. It's pretty loud. I actually encouraged the behavior because it irritates my parents.
