Shoes: Not Just In A Woman's Closet

The stereotypical woman has a purse for every day of the year, and seemingly hundreds of pairs of shoes to boot. No pun intended.

I've noticed in my walks around whatever town or city I'm in, it's not just the women that have many different shoes. A lot of the men do too.

My questions to you are:

a. How many pairs of shoes do you own?
b. What is your favorite brand of shoes?
c. What is your favorite pair of shoes that you currently own?

I have two pairs of Converse Hi-Tops, one pair duct-taped so the soles won't fall out, and a pair I use for dress shoes. I also have two pairs of Nike Airmax's that were given to me. One pair of Airmax's might need to be duct-taped soon, too.

Lol, I used to have a pair of VANS. Red, black, and white.. Those things were srs bsns.

Then I outgrew them. They were starting to fray a bit anyways. I donated them, because they were still wearable. Just not by me.

a pair of casual white street shoes, a pair of fine black leather shoes that go with my suit, black sneakers (nike's, I think) black rubber boots for walking at swamps and other wet stuff and finally black leather ones for winter. So, 5 pairs in total.

While I do have multiple pair of shoes and other footwear, each has a different purpose and they rarely overlap. I've got my all-purpose outdoor shoes(not just for walking!), formal shoes, house shoes, and flip-flops. It's not the number of shoes that's the issue, it's the number of shoes whose purposes overlap.

All of my other shoes are ones I've outgrown but haven't thrown out yet.

2. None. I preffer artisan-made leather shoes.

I own one pair of shoes at a time; I wear them until they are worn, beaten, and about to fall apart and then I get a new pair.

My last 5 pairs have been Nike Frees, as they are very comfortable.

-2 pair of Nike gym shoes, one is white with light blue on it and the other is grayish with light blue on it

I don't have a favorite brand..but I do like Nike

I'm like Eris. I basically only have one pair of shoes because, really, the only thing I really care about in the long run is having something comfortable covering my feet (as long as its not pink of course). I wear tennis shoes and nothing else, so I don't pay much attention to brands (I don't even know what brand of shoes I am wearing right now).

I do have a pair of formal shoes, but that's only because my school pretty much requires them.

Wellllllll... let's see.

1 pair black Vans- 4/5 years.
1 pair purple Converse- less than 1 year.
2 pairs heels for special occasions, both black- under 2 years.
5-10 pair flip flops, various colours of the rainbow, all purchased from Old Navy- under 4 years.

Every Spring, I buy more flip flops, because that is what I wear throughout the Spring, Summer and most of Autumn. They're cheap, so if the break, it's no big deal and I can just get a new pair. My feet have been the same size since I was like 12, so unless I start wearing my Vans all over the place, I can see me wearing those for another good two years or so.

I currently own three pairs of shoes, two pairs of thongs and a pair of slippers.
I don't have a favourite brand of shoes, instead handling a few at the place I'm browsing in - I look for comfort and how durable they appear over anything else except in the case of the one pair of dress shoes I generally have (appearance is important there, though I won't pick an uncomfortable pair regardless of how good they look).
Favourite pair? All three. They're all comfortable and each has it's own role - my leather dress shoes work well with better clothes for special occasions, my lace up steel capped boots are great for working security jobs requiring 'black black leather laceups' and my steel capped joggers are extremely comfortable and pack a mean kick.

That's one thing I love in any shoe actually - steel caps, particularly when they don't look steel capped.

Though back in school days, I used to have a pair of shoes along with a pair of sneakers, as it was necessary. But as sneakers are more practical and comfortable, I no longer buy shoes. I'm not a fan of formal clothing anyway.
