Seems they're going back to what made Sonic great in the first place. Get from point A to B as fast as possible. Though I was more exited about Sonic 4 till I found out it wasn't coming to handhelds.
I think it looks amazing. I've always been a fan of the sonic series, whether it be the originals or the ones for the GC. This game looks right up my alley, and I can't wait to see more about it.

Oh yes, I am definitely interested in this. For those who know, sonic is one of my favorite series of all time.
It looks to be a look more "speed" oriented as @GameGeeks: pointed out. The colors are way vibrant, and I see a lot more of effects such as that "angled speed line" (I dunno what to call it other than that), and they're keeping in part with the rail-grinding system too. Which is good, it worked in the other ones, so I'm glad they didn't get rid of it. It does appear too that they threw in the "super-speed" that was introduced in the xbox sonic the hedgehog, it had some issues, but over all it was pretty cool.
I am curious to know though, if this is only for wii, or will it be available for other consoles?

If you look at the end of the trailer you'll see that was for the DS. Hence my comment about Sonic 4. Though as you said it's also on the Wii.
