Default Drivers of all ages and location, help!

Tomorrow is my awaited driver license test. I've been practicing very hard for it (spending one-two hours parallel parking for the past two week as well as driving). Can any of you guys with your license give me tips, hints, and advice on what to do, and what not to do? Also, do I need to know anything? Such as what the lights are called (IDK what they're called...)? Anything about the driving and parking? I hear if you can parallel park, you pass. Also, if it helps, I live in Philadelphia, so if you live hear and have your license/took the test, may you please explain to me the whole process of what to do? Like, park first, drive, etc?

Is there anything you need to know at all? Like, information? Such as what things are called, the speed limits, etc?

Btw, the speed limit is 25 for normal streets, 15 for schools, 55 for high-ways, right?

    Thanks!

P.S. If it helps, I'm sixteen.

Well let's see here, I'm 19 and I've never so much as touched a steering wheel. But I'll give it a shot~

Um, I suppose it's probably not a good idea to run over old ladies, (well, maybe if they deserved it).

Cars do not float in the water.

They will not survive a nuclear blast. I dunno why movies keep showing that they can. >_>

In case of a zombie outbreak, you car will not function very well as a safehouse.

Don't keep personal belongings in the exhaust pipe.

    That's about all I got.

Edit: although, if you want real driving lessons, you'll need an expert.

Sometimes you need to get a little more technical, which will now be demonstrated by my good friend Gorden Freeman.

Pay close attention, because this will be on your test.

Well, when I took my test they never asked about th speed limits/what the signs were called. They did ask me about where certan things were in my car. So you have to know that, and you can only get a couple wrong so be careful! That's about all I can offer. But I did pass my test, so I hope you pass yours!

"Certain things?" May you elaborate on what those things are? Are you talking about the blinkers (turn signals, right?), far light, wind-shield wipers, etc are at? Would you mind listing the things you had to know where?

I can tell you're gonna fail tomorrow, regardless of how good you can park. You don't know your car parts, though it's strange that they ask you about them during the driving test. You sound likely to fall for the examinator's tricks, like telling you to park on a no stopping zone, or go on a reverse way. At least don't forget to turn on the headlights after you start the engine if it's mandatory in that lame state you live in.
Post how how you failed tomorrow.
20 European Dollars says you'll shift in the 3rd before leaving the third stop sign.

The speed limit inside of neighborhoods is GENERALLY 30 mph. Go any faster than that and you run the risk of running kids over because narrow streets+10 year olds playing soccer don't mix well. Highways are usually 60 mph, if you're in the far left lane, everyone speeds there. I advise just sticking to the right or middle lane, you'll be fine. As for school zones, you'll see a big *** sign that says SCHOOL ZONE, SPEED LIMIT -X- WHEN FLASHING. If the lights are flashing, then the speed limit is whatever that number is (20 usually). If not, maintain your regular speed.

In any case, just relax and stay cool. You've been practicing (I hope), so just drive normally and drive safely. Stay calm and do everything by the book. Put on your seatbelt, make sure your mirrors are fine, make sure your parking brake is down, then just follow their instructions. Be wary of examiner traps like McDoom mentioned.

Blast NWA, Compton's Most Wanted, Ice Cube or South Central Cartel while you're in the car really, really loud when the police are around. Like in the movie, Rollerball, it's 100 points if you hit a baby. I'm not sure if it's negative or positive points .

Just go calm and relaxed. If you are relaxed, your instructor will be relaxed too. You want to make them feel confident that you can pass. It's not a hard test, and I'm sure you WILL pass.

Lights as in blinkers or headlights? It depends on what type of car you drive, but usually the 1st push of the light lever is medium headlights, whereas 2nd push is high beam. High beams should only be used when it is most needed (I think fogs or something..I've never really used it, except for really dark areas in the middle of nowhere town), and they should NEVER be used if there is a car around (especially if they are going towards you on the other lane, because you can blind the driver).

I didn't really do well on parallel parking, and I pretty much had to teach myself. My mom's tip really helps: Line up the window of your car next to the window of the other driver's car. Slowly back up and then turn the wheel of your car as you back up (right if you are going right, left if you are going left). I usually keep going until I hit the curb (or think I am), then I move forward a little bit, and do the same thing. I usually do it 3x until I get in the spot (1 if it's not tight).

I don't live in Philadelphia, but I assume that the test will almost be exact as my test. You go in, take the written test on a computer (Qs are all from the book..really simple) and then you take the driving test.

    A few rules:
    1) When you turn on your blinker, make sure you look at the rear view mirror and turn to look at your "blind spot", then go into the next lane
    2) ALWAYS USE YOUR BLINKER!
    3) Don't touch the radio or do anything than drive, because you're not supposed to do that. Radios should only be played before you leave, but I wouldn't touch it at all
    4) When you first enter the car, make sure you fix all the mirrors to where you can see the areas around your car
    5) Be aware of all stop signs
    6) If you go on the freeway, make sure you speed up when you enter, because going slow will get you into an accident (that's a fact)
    7) If you encounter a street with yellow blinking lights, it means to yield to other cars
    8) If you encounter a street with red blinking lights, it works as if it's a stop sign

Is there anything you need to know at all? Like, information? Such as what things are called, the speed limits, etc?
I don't think they ask you any of that stuff, but it might pop up on the written test (computer-based). Speed limit is important when you are driving, because you should always go the speed limit. Stay on the right side of the lane if you are driving slower than the speed limit.

Btw, the speed limit is 25 for normal streets, 15 for schools, 55 for high-ways, right?
It could be different for everyone. For normal streets in Texas it's 35-40, 15 for schools and 55-60 for freeways/highways. You don't have to memorize it, because you don't know what speed limit will apply. Always try to find the speed limit (it'll be in black & white colors)

    Thanks!

P.S. If it helps, I'm sixteen.
    Good luck!

I never had to parallel park to pass my test. But then I live in OK.
I think the main advice I have is to not be afraid to ask questions if you need to. For example, I drive a standard, and if you take your hands off the wheel then you can fail, so I asked what to do with my hands and she replied just to keep them on the wheel as much as possible. Also, whenever I wasn't sure what the speed limit was on a street, I asked, Its better than guessing. And make sure you put on your seat belt before you start the car. :]
I am too connected to you
    To slip away, fade away.
Days away I still feel you
    Touching me, changing me,

    Considerately killing me.
