I was fooling around with a spectrum analyzer program I wrote a couple of years ago, which had me needing to pronounce various sound frequencies. That gave me the incentive to practice whistling. I can now sweep most of the audible spectrum at reasonably constant intensity. That being said, it's not much use for any sort of musical tasks, as my training is entirely technical (with said spectrum analyzer), and mathematics doesn't really distinguish between on-key and off-key.
