    Exclamation Kimono a-go-go

I collect, wear, and sell kimono. I attend cons and teach classes on kimono history, dressing, etiquette, and more. I have various outfits, and love to share them if only to show how fun and stylish they can be to wear. I live in Ohio, and am one of only a handful of kimono collectors in the area. Here are a few photos of me that I have had taken or have setup solo (yay for timers). I also do a lot of micro shots, showing off kimono details.

Expensive? Depends on where and who you buy them from. At cons, my 'expensive' stuff is $60. It all depends, ya know?

My personal private collection that I do not sell, is quiet expensive - individual parts costing $100+. An outfit costs about $500 - $1000 top to bottom.

Oh, I thought they were more expensive!
By the way, are they really made of silk? *-*

Kimono come in MANY different kinds of fabrics. Through all of history here is a small list of some of the materials that kimono have been made from:
    *Silk
    *Linen/Cotton
    *Wool (sheep, and yak)
*Paper pulps (these were then coated in wax to make flexible raincoats - you read it right, paper kimono)
    *Grass/hemp fibers
    *Modern synethics

Many modern kimono can be tossed in the washing machine, and are easy to care for.
