Palm Reading

Even though I don't fully believe in it, sometimes I will look up how to palm read and try to predict my future. It's also cool to tell other people that you can read palms.

So what does your palm say, and what do you think about palm reading in general? Do you believe in it or not?

My palm says:
- will live an average-length life
- won't get married/will have weak commitments
- will break relationships easily
- extremely lucky
- strong-willed
- self-centered and reckless
- would rather cling to work than love

Palm reading is one of those things I don't believe in, but it relaxes the hell outta me. I'm actually willing to go to one of those parlors where they read your palms just so that I can feel relaxed.

I will admit that I often indulge in palmistry. In fact, it is one of the forms of divination that I use the most (behind cartomancy). However, despite my belief in them, I'm not going to go so far as to say that they "predict the future". One's destiny can change based on their actions, so one's future is never set in stone. I guess the best way to explain is that its a practice to gain insight on one's future based on current actions and energies. Sounds very metaphysical and "new age-y" but I'm a Witch; comes with the gig.

My palm says (among a bunch of other things) that I:

-Am self-confident, assertive; like to take the lead; act first; think later
-Will live a long, healthy life
-Am very energetic and enthusiastic about life
-Likes to travel but is a homebody at heart
-Prefer change to a static lifestyle; yet respects routine
-Am rigid, law abiding
-Have a love for anything physical; earthy outdoors person

@Omnomnom: Not sure what you mean by "use your opposite hand". Traditionally, if you are giving a reading to yourself to gain insight on the future, then you would use your dominant hand (the one you write with). Your opposite hand would be used to examine your past, the energies that you were born with. This of course means that if you are going to give yourself a full reading (an examination of your past and potential future to influence your present), then you start with your opposite hand.

That's basically all I can agree with you there. I've never believed in it and don't plan on trying it. Same as horoscopes.
