Suddenly the boat was sinking
Fire and beast spread
Hands held hands
Courage by a thread

The wind whistled past
And merged with the rain
To help wash the fire
Off this water-bound train

Muscles ached
Stomachs somersaulted
As fear met bravery
That night the boat faltered

But humans are strong
With compassion inside
They called on it now
With the will to survive

They ran to the lifeboats
Like moths to a flame
But instead of blinding
They saw through the pain

Some sailed free
Other weren't so graced
As courage met it's match
And challenged even.. fate.
